    Default Tips For A Begginer

    Im 6 foot 7 with ectomorph body type

    wanna do weights and cardio, whats good routine for me to do (links?) for cardio and lifting?

    Do compound movements since you need to put some muscle mass on first, that's priority
    i.e. benchpress, squats, deadlift etf

    Then do about 10 minutes on the threadmill after every session

    When i first started i used dumbells and cables mainly gained good strength fairly quickly then adapted to everything else.
    Dont get too comfortable doing plate loaded weights lifting 50kg then jump on free weight bench press and you can do the same because it wont happen free weights you need the stability etc.
    Start off low weight say 20kg 10 reps next set 30kg 8 reps 40/50kg 6reps Max out 4 or so reps then go backwards lowering the weight this is the method i still use now and have seen good gains.
    2 or 3 times a week wont cut it.. you need to be going 4/5 minimum to really maximise your gains imo.

    Deadlift
    Pullups
    Bench press
    Overhead Press

    do this for a while, fucking everything else. Dont get sucked into doing a 'bro split' at least for a while

    Yeah, as said, do the big compounds listed above, even if they seem 'hard' and you can only do small weights.

    Try and get a spotter and make sure you are lifting about as heavy as you actually can. Don't be content just to push up decent amount. Make sure you are straining by the end each time.

    You can get hench enough just doing that. Only need to isolate more specifically if you really want to become a massive unit or want big biceps/lats/traps whatever.

    Hmmm

    Was just reading online, that the main reason to avoid a 'bro split' (working each bodypart once a week, on seperate days), is because its actually more efficient to work each body part twice a week. (usually achieved by combining a few big compound lifts on the same day)

    Pretty much what I do anyway, but good to know. Usually a bit lazy and dont bother with stuff I cba if Ive already done it that week.

    i dont know all the technical jargon but is that resistance strength building? that has always struck me as something to start doing initially

    Your currently a 6ft7 stick and bone. You need those compound movement to add some muscle on first

    these are all core exercises that work multiple muscles of the body at one time, which is much more beneficial then working 2 muscle groups once a week

    infact im gonna start doing it cos im stalling with this bro split im doing atm
