    Default Trap & Grime

Really not feeling the way that alot of trap music atm is being passed off as 'grime'. some of the biggest producers and MCs are riding that bandwagon though... what do you guys think about it? Good or bad? personally i feel as if its diluting alot of what grime is really about. Ride the wave if you want but call it trap not grime. just my opinion tho

I like some of this trap stuff, especially the more EDM influenced tracks, but I think they should be kept separate from grime for sure.

What the fuck is trap? I've heard about it, how does it differ from grime? Can someone post examples.

From what I've been hearing Sx-Wooo would be a trap beat.

    Stuff like this:

    And from uk producers:

Basically the American influenced stuff that you'll hear Rick Ross etc spit on.

I don't have a problem with trap music I just have a problem when people call it grime. It's not grime and never should be considered grime. I don't particularly like grime DJs and MCs selecting trap beats but that's their choice I guess
Have you ever seen a grime spirit in its true form?

....and Garage/House, Jungle/DnB, Dancehall etc. It sounded nothing like Hip-Hop at the start, now it's pretty much the same which baffles me. Why turn a scene into Hip-Hop when most people consider it dead/laughable these days? House music is more Grimy than Grime these days.

    Trap <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
    House = Disco
Jungle = Old Skool UK Hip Hop and Ragga

Hip Hop has already been to the above destinations, Grime is simply a bi-product.

I don't see anything wrong with different sides of the genre being explored, I think a lot of the stuff is trap inspired grime more than straight trap.

As long as there are producers still exploring the other dimensions of grime then it's all good imo

You need to look at a few underground Hip-hop rappers man. America has bare loads and tbh Charlie Sloths "Fire in the Booth" sessions make it out like the UK has bare talent. Just a shame most of them put out shit CDs/ Mixtapes or generally shit songs.

    Ghetto on Hip-Hip >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Still like him more on Grime but he can spit on most beats and make it sound sick tbh.

Don't really care as long as it's good tbh. I'm not gonna narrowly define genres and listen to one and not the other. I'd rather listen to a good trap beat than a shit 'grime' one.

    Personally, no.

Have been into Hip Hop and to a certain extend still am (altough I admittingly don't follow much new stuff) and most Trap beats
to me are the most boring uninspirational pieces of music I've heard in the last couple years, bar maybe a few exceptions.

There ARE SOME SICK trap beats, however the majority are shit.

Big up the producers making real grime.

Not got a problem with trap/hip-hop sounding beats, just don't call them
