Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has hinted he is interested in a move to Real Madrid, but poured cold water on the idea he could move to the Bernabeu this summer.

Reports in Spain suggest Madrid president Ramon Calderon, resigned to missing out on Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo, has prepared a big-money offer for the 21-year-old.

But while Fabregas, a product of the famous Barcelona youth academy, revealed he could move to Madrid in the future, he insists he wants to stay at the Emirates Stadium for the time being.

"I didn't tell Ramon Calderon no," he told Spanish sports daily Marca. "I told him that now wasn't the time to go to Madrid.

"That you are wanted by Madrid, one of the biggest teams in history, is important."

Fabregas enjoyed a great summer as he helped Spain end their 44-year wait for a trophy at Euro 2008.
Domestically, however, for the third year on the trot, the midfielder ended yet another season empty-handed.
And the young star, who feels he would be certain to lift a trophy should he opt for the Spanish champions, admits another season without any silverware could see him head for the exit door.

"To be four seasons without winning any titles would be too much for me," Fabregas added. "Real Madrid are the favourites to win La Liga this year."

I think hes a fucking prick to be honest. I hate Fabregas' arrogance on the field but this is a new low, surely he was/is inline to be vice captain after Gallas?

I don't understand why he even had to go public with that? Just say to the press/media that he's 'Happy with Arsenal' and discuss leaving in the future with his family. And big up Roman Calderon still tapping up.

I think if he was to go to spain(which I believe he will eventually) it will be to Barcelona!

Sidenote: Wenger needs to do something about all this type of shit, its getting out of hand.

He said he wanted to go and play for barca when he was 26/27. If he leaves soon hes cunt considering he signed a 8 yr contract last year, or whenever.

They are direct quotes. All over Sky Sports news along the bottom and several news sites.

But, if he wants to stay for another season, why even mention moving away in the future? Its so selfish of him and the Arsenal fans love Fabregas.

lool safe.

Tbh its true, going 4 seasons without a title is a par. It doesnt look like we will win it in the next few years.

If we don't even come close to winning a trophie next year we will have to seriously rethink our transfere policy & start purchasing established players because being trophieless for 3 to 4 seasons is unacceptable!

Arsenal need players with great mental strength which seems to be the biggest problem in the club

This is the problem with no club memory or legacy.

Arsenal let their players run amok.

Wenger deserves more respect, he gets boyed by his players all the time.

Meh, all Arsenal fans know that he'll leave the club to go to Spain by the time he's 26/27. I would have thought Barca would have been his preferred choice due to his childhood love for them.

I agree that some players need to learn to shut their mouths, or if they need to talk, at the very least have Thierry Henry's media savviness: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/7520195.stm

He answered the leading questions by the journalists well, fully aware that they were looking for a juicy line to use. It's really not that difficult to do.

He'll be at Arsenal for a couple more seasons at least, but if he's not going to be he's signed a hefty contract so there'll have to be a big fee for him to go.

What price would you be happy with if he went NOW (hypothetically) ?

Fabregas - Some people are just trying to make mischief

Following media reports this morning, Cesc Fabregas wanted to put the record straight by making the following statement.

"I have not spoken to any media so it's frustrating to read quotes that I have supposedly said about my future.

"I have spent the summer relaxing with my family, friends and girlfriend and I return to training with Arsenal tomorrow.

"I think that some people are just trying to make mischief but my intentions are very clear. I am happy here at Arsenal, my future is with Arsenal and the priority is to achieve success and win trophies at Arsenal."

Hope Real Madrid fuck off for a while, they're becoming a joke, always after players they cant get, unsettling them.

Fair enough from Cesc Fabregas.
