If they have any sense...

He didn't even believe it himself when he was saying on MOTD he didn't see any reason why he wouldn't be there next season.

Rodgers and Lambert should stay away and wait for a better job.

rumour was he was meeting with Lerner within the next 24 hours to discuss the teams performance this season. i can see him being sacked as if the season went on for 2 more weeks I could see them going down

I think the point at Anfield almost kept them out of the relegation scrap. They were shite, and we battered them as we have other teams but couldn't score.

ALL THEY DID, was get goal kicks and have Shay Given pump it from the right hand side of his area, to the left wing of the pitch for Adbonglahor to try and win against John Flanagan lol, bar the goal which was taken nicely, I counted 24 times they did this.

isn't mcleish blues' most successful manager in their history?

lol, and i don't think i've seen a team as spineless as villa in these last few games of the season. the only reason they did not go down was because of points they won early in the season. faced with the threat of relegation their performances were timid as fuck.

14th May '12, 03:16 PM
Bent injury and Petrov illness didn't help the cause.

He had a decent team to build from but just didn't know what to do.

Aston Villa can confirm that Alex McLeish's contract has been terminated with immediate effect.

So chuffed about this now, it has been the worst season to be a villa fan since about 91,

was a bad choice hiring him, he cant take all the blame i believe our defence has been fucking awful, cancelling out anywork the forwards have done

I would personally like to see these players leave the club

Dunne (awful)
Warnock - we basically need a new defence
Hutton (kind of getting better but still awful)
Heskey - is off :)
Gabby - has done fuck all this season
N'Zogbia - Awful signing

Few established players in to guide the youngers, as for a new manager
no idea

How different does everyone think Villa season would've been if Bent wasn't injured?

Massively, although he hasnt really had the right supply into the box, he isnt a great goal scorer just right place right time poaching them, we have had some huge setbacks with injuries, were playing alot of the reserves this season they have done well,
Spurs match they all ran around like headless chickens, the most boring football i have seen in my life

Yep.

I'd actually be delighted if little Ole were to get it

Molde's season doesn't finish until around October so he'd have to leave his position early I think. They started the season badly but are now 4th iirc, won 5 and lost 3.

I hope Ole gets it.

If Ole gets the Villa job Ill have one eye on Villa results all next season. Guys a legend, hell get a massive reception when he comes back to Old Trafford

Mr. Jefferies
17th May '12, 10:35 PM
The downside to him going Villa is I'm not sure I'd want to hear the abuse he'd probably get from their spazzy fans. Even when competing for 4th they were still booing if they lost a game. He could be on to a hiding to nothing at Villa where they will want him out after 5 games when they aren't top of the league.

People forget how loyal Ole is though, even if he is offered the job who knows if he will take it. He may want to finish this season at least, maybe even have a crack at Europe with Molde.

Awful reporting. He didn't say no at all. He said he is under contract at Molde and isn't looking to leave, but that if Villa want to take negotiations to the next level they will be done in a more private manner in future.
