Bolton have made an official approach for Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha.

Manager Owen Coyle has money to spend following the sale of Gary Cahill to Chelsea and is willing to put 5million down on a deal for Crystal Palace youngster.

Newcastle and Liverpool have both shown interest in the England U21 international but were put off by Palace asking 10million so Coyle may face a difficult task persuading the 19-year-old and his club but he has a good reputation for bringing the best out of young talent.

Coyle has been rebuffed in an approach for Blackpool winger Matt Phillips - receiving the same answer as Cardiff were given a few days earlier.

Coyle may also earn cash from the sale of Kevin Davies with Sunderland still keen on the 34-year-old.
