Win to City. Arsenal still don't look convincing at the back and with the quality of Aguero/Balotelli/Silva running at them I can see them struggling. Arsenal will get a goal or two I reckon but they'll still lose.

Basically this.

I'd take a draw right now tbh.

This is what I thought until they went down to 10 men, even then I was still scared but we were all over them after that tbh.

I honestly think with RVP fit and bang in form Arsenal have as good a chance as anyone to beat City, last few weeks they havent been in top form, drawing against us, losing to chelsea and getting dumped out the champs league, im sure their confidence has dipped, so im going for an Arsenal win even though it's away.

Shakeem
14th December '11, 02:25 PM
bit earrly nah? but anyway I would be more then happy with a draw tbh then we'll shit on aston villa next.

Tony Starks

City got it put on them by Liverpool and Chelsea and also in the champs league. They look vulnerable when they come up against players of class and everyone knows it now

Missing Santos is a big blow cos we'll be forced to play Djourou who will be the worst player on the pitch by a mile. But our front 3 and Ramsey are creating chances for fun right now. We'll go there looking to win and I believe we can.

this exactly

napoli chelsea liverpool i.e the 3 games i can recall it being put on them they've flopped

from an arsenal point of view the red card situation could've been better, toure will probs boss it and should've seen red against us, whilst zabaleta is a better defender than clichy anyway

but rvp >>>

(just saying this from a fuck city point of view, i think 3-1 citeh as arsenal aren't gonna put it on them like us and 'pool did)

187 lol you know I just love bantering fam, you man aren't even playing that shit tbh. Just slack defending and concentration, losing your discipline a bit which you can't do against the strongest team in the league.

Fair play to Wenger for setting his team out to try and take the game to City, but for that to work properly your defence needs to be extra solid and all your attacking players need to bang on it, which they clearly haven't been today.

Proud of the the performance no ones said they're proud for losing stop forcing it.

This is a team that has beaten 25 of the 27 teams that have come there this year and beat last years champions 6-1. Us losing wasn't such a huge shock to the system but we matched them the whole game and put in a good performance. Why shouldn't we be proud?

You flopped massively against difficult teams.

8-2 to Man United
2-0 to Liverpool
1-0 to City
2-1 to Tottenham
0-0 vs Newcastle

Although you did manage to beat Chelsea - and that helped you a lot.

Also, we've failed to score despite numerous chances in the first 16 games, so could almost say the same. It's not as cut and dry as you make it out to be, your run of good form coincided with a run of games against cannon fodder (although in fairness the same teams we can't beat at home lol)

Wenger has a loyalty to certain players. It's why he stuck with Denilson for so long. Both Ox and Benayoun should be playing more. Ox should be ahead of Walcott and Arshavin out wide. Yossi has played well enough for us to be starting more or to being brought on more.

is it me or does ramsey just constantly try these little flicks and back heels which never come off and give the ball away

Ramsey isn't the best player at everything coming off for him, a pass mightn't make it a coupla times, a flick not work etc, he might not win enough 50-50 scraps & Wilshere is more measured, most of the scraps he puts up a better fight with his low sense of gravity, his flicks when he does them usually come off, more considered in his passing...

But, I still think Aaron Ramsey is fantastic & I prefer him over Wilshere, he seems to do more to set free attackers, I like his ingenuity, it's probably missed by a lot the type of audacious stuff he does, but when it comes off.. it's really good.
Arsenal are blessed to have 2 British young midfielders with their quality. I know Jack's the golden boy & I'm happy we'll get to see them play in the 1st team regularly together, but, I'd pick Ramsey.

Both of you are Chelsea fans, a Chelsea fan was worried about Kakuta, said he's struggling, not the player he thought he was etc etc..We might as well get rid... There is a growing amount of CFC fans that don't think he'll be good enough for us & especially not in the near future..

yh that was me, and whilst i hear ur point in the article, my problems with kakuta come from his performance in games for chelsea, the rationale of "why isn't he played when bolton are struggling" were just used as a secondary argument tbh - even in sturridge's stop start 18 months under ancelotti i wouldn't shut up bout him needing to play (i get the piss taken out of me now for it my boy says im a sturridge fan not a chelsea fan lol)

Zoffie
19th December '11, 11:59 PM
When you say his performances for Chelsea do you mean in his reserve games or for the actual team?

Players like Kakuta are different prospects from strikers, Sturridge more often than not can let his shooting boots do the talking.
Alexis Sanchez at Udinese as a 16 year old was highly rated, but his transition into the player that all of Europe wanted only came after he started to score goals regularly...

..and with Sanchez it came at 22, Cristiano Ronaldo really started to find his shooting boots into his 20's.

I don't think Kakuta being judged on his 1st team appearances for us is fair as he has only had isolated chances & cameo appearances, if we look back to Malouda when he 1st came, he was allowed a run of games to become a player for us, the same with Ramires.

The Don
20th December '11, 12:43 AM
i didn't write him off, if anything i think i wanted him to do well

i just couldn't understand the timidness of his play when every time he's in a france shirt he's arjen robben, he looked genuinely scared in one game, against villa i think? touch was off and everything

i do want him to do well though innit, when's his loan up? if it's 6 months then maybe with kalou off in jan he'll get a chance or two

Zoffie
20th December '11, 01:26 AM
Like I say, last season, younger players like Sturridge, Kakuta were used with little thought to it, we stripped the squad back
agreed we would use younger players, but, they were bought on to save the day, when we were losing as impact players.

We didn't see the best of Sturridge in those situations & I remember against Birmingham one particular game where Sturridge was given a start ahead of Saloman Kalou, Sturridge had a horrible game, there was too much pressure on him to perform, to not give the ball away & at the same time to make a suitable enough impression to get considered for more games...

I completely understand that the circumstances are not the type for younger cretive players or even defenders like Bruma to shine in, here at CFC now, it's a little more free, Boas does say he likes to give attackers freedom & is very much about attack.

This the relaxed Kakuta on his debut remember

This the relaxed Kakuta on his debut remember

forgot that game still, think that was the week all the drama around the transfer came out i remember thinking ancelotti (?) was jokes for playing him lol

and avb might like attack, but he's under his own pressure now

Av-B doesn't play younger players all willy-nilly, a lot of players were calling for Romeu to be given a chance a long time before he was eventually given an EPL start that occurred because Mikel suffered an injury, Romeu playing coincided with our change in fortune, we had a good win against Newcastle and since he has kept his place.

Av-B had't made his mind up about whether or not to loan Sturridge back to Bolton, Coyle was pressuring him to send him back & Av-B said he wants to assess him first. Unfortunately for Owen Coyle... (if anything look at his goal at 1:20)

A lot of the games in pre-season we were dull until Sturridge came on & brought imagination. everybody had the chance to shine in pre-season, everyone got minutes, everyone got a suitable case to show themselves, unfortunately for Kakuta...
He & Romeu were at the World u20 cup, so he didn't get that luxury.

It looks like Kalou could be leaving outright in Jan, he'll definitely be going to the ANC a long with Drogba, Anelka will be going as well, the attacking part of our squad should be thinner, if he stays, perhaps he'll get a chance to shine again.
If he comes in and does super, he's not 18 like Josh, he deserves more of a go.

kakuta not even on the bench for bolton's most important game of the season so far?

see this is another problem, with his potential; how is he actually benefiting from this move Zoffie

hopefully gets recalled in jan

The last game before this, they said that Kakuta won't be involved in the next match day squad either so his loan was effectively finished then.

He might be going on loan to French promoted side Dijon, he'll definitely get game time there, if he goes, hope no injuries either, should be good exposure for him.
