View Full Version : Who is the most exciting sportsman you've seen in your lifetime?

Mr. Jefferies
31st October '11, 09:33 AM
can be any sport, no holds barred.

it's between ronaldinho, leo messi and ronnie o'sullivan (snooker is a sport) for me i think. c. ronaldo could've been one but he's not really that entertaining anymore, he's just a goal machine although 2003-2007 i was genuinely excited every time he got the ball. ronaldinho was unbelievable, you never knew what he was going to do next (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=va6NyR42vf0) but you can bet your life you hadn't seen it before. messi does something amazing in every game, even the rare games he doesn't score. he makes a defender look like a tit (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Q1Cj7JGFT0) in every single game. ronnie o'sullivan as well is very entertaining, the wiley of snooker. an erratic genius (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McThDshEgU0). ends up disappointing me a lot in tournaments though.

worthy mentions - fat ronaldo when he wasn't fat, mario balotelli for his off-field shenanigans and usain bolt, he makes me want to watch athletics, the first time he showboated before crossing the finish line >>>>>

arsenal fans: apart from thierry henry.

When you think about it we've been blessed to watch the greatest sportsman of their respected sports ever.

Im talking Michael Jordan, Michael Schumacher, Tiger Woods, Phil Taylor, Brian Lara & Tendulkar, Federer & Nadal, Usain Bolt and Messi could and already is being talked about as the best footballer ever.

Okay we may not watch the sports some of them are associated with but we've been lucky.

not trying to be a bell-end but i think a lot of people would disagree with these, i think ayrton senna is regarded as the goat F1 driver and sampras the goat tennis player, although i do agree with your point.

you can add o'sullivan to that list as he's the most talented snooker player ever.

Yeah also O'Sullivan or then again there would be debate because you could argue Stephen Hendry is up there as well.

In that case, Ronaldinho used to make me jump out my seat. Messi is doing that now.

Serena Williams and Nadal for the Tennis.

Thierry Henry and the whole Invincibles side was such a joy to watch. It wasn't a band of expensively assembled stars but players that had been nurtured and matured all at the right time into the best side this country has seen. At a point we had who I believe was the best player and striker in the world, the best winger, best def midfielder and best left back.

I used to watch Henry and wanna be like him but I remember watching Ronaldinho thinking there's no way I could reach that level. I thought he'd mastered the game of football then Messi came out of nowhere. There's no doubt in my mind he's the GOAT. I'm a little numb to just how good he is cos he's so consistent but when I take a step back and proper analyse the things he does its mind blowing.

O'Sullivans a good shout. When the real Ronnie turned up no one could beat him. True entertainer as well I didn't realise how young he was either at the time I started watching him.

Would have liked to witness Tyson in his prime as well cos he fell off around when I started watching big fights

i don't see how michael owen or david beckham are exciting. they are two of the most boring characters in sport. their playing styles didn't really have you on the edge or your seat either they just happened to be very effective.
