A producer who’s name has been on everyone’s lips this year is Z Dot and a phrase that has recently been used quite frequently is the ‘New Wave (of Grime)’. Saturday evening on the 24th of July there was a UKG Takeover on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra. With a genre clash between Grime, Dubstep, Funky House and Bassline on Mistajam’s show with P-Money, Newham Generals, Maxsta, Mz Bratt, Lioness and more. Then after Tim Westwood had a grime set special for two hours, with Dot Rotten, Ghetts, Devlin, Griminal, Little Nasty and lots more. Check out the audio in this article!

I caught up with D Double and the Dirtee Stank crew at the BBC as he was about to perform on the 5.19 show. After filming was done we went to the pub and, over a Bacardi and coke (double measures of course!) had a chat about Street Fighter, Newham Generals and the many upcoming projects he’s involved in.
