Default When will the time come that people admit grime just isn't the same as it used to be?

Like is everyone joking or what? People get so pissed off when you even mention it i swear.
The whole street element (which made it what it was) is dead, its turning into a commercial joke.

I still support a lot of grime coming out today don't get me wrong but half these tracks are trap based instrumentals or some next techno shit lol.
What happened to actual clashes on radio, what happened to the real sends?

All the guys who left grime from back in the day who came back don't give two shits about the youngers today clearly, so many mc's deserve a voice or more recognition but get swept to the side because all the new school grime heads have literally just got into the old guys now. Most of the guys who got the break through from grime dont even make grime anymore?

This is the reason why UK Drill/Trap is taking over because it almost comes across as more real, grime is just becoming a laughing stock with a limited lifeline in my eyes but hey i will continue to support i guess.

Moral of the post is more real grime needs to be getting pushed to the masses so people dont get the wrong end of the stick, you could ask ten different people which ten producers or mc's they like and i can guarantee people will be coming out with some mad names lol.

exactly no one spits over 140bpm beats any more its 70bpm now

the best era was when you had like snoopy montana, maxtsa, voltage, ice kid, chip, brutal, and all that lot on the 1xtra westwood shows and logan shows, whcih the skeamz, rude kid, rapid, nocturnal productions

it's all shit now, no ones making them skippy flows its all about song lyrics and not bars

i agree grime is not the same but the massive amount of shows in different radio stations proves that grime is very strong now

i kind of look at it like this, music has changed , the scene is split up, yes uk rap is what the "street sound" is now , yes we know, get over the it

all the things we like about grime are still there, is it 2003, no its not all going to feel the same we were attached to grime but things move on breh

and only an idiot would believe uk rap is more "real" lololol wwf out here, are you not entertained?

its just not serious anymore, like every guy wants to make it big, writing pop songs n shit.
There is no street element left in grime now that all the corporations have their hands on it, come on now all these radio presenters on radio 1xtra n shit, i didnt even know about them before like 2 years ago loool.

Grime (as it is now) is indeed very strong in its own way but everyone interprets it in a different way, we all see it differently.

grime as in all the trap beats or grime as in GRIME?

even radar has calmed down on all the grime stuff recently and they were like THE answer to bringing it all back to life again hahaha

Its true. A bunch of corny tunes that blew up and brought more Ps into the scene but BBK wanna keep calling it "greatness". Its pop/selling out in sense. Half-grime.

But anyway who cares, there's enough vets and new MCs doing their ting and putting out grimey shit atm

I think listening radio shows is still good , going to grime raves maybe is not that good as 2012 times , and listening full album or mixtapes needs to come back, and if u you are a DJ looking for instrumentals is in a good moment with lots of new producers
