You should release some FL Studio - Grime Tutorials on Youtube.

I think the community could really benefit from some.

Lumbridge Riddim. There were some nicely engineered samples like the kick drum. It came through nicely but ended up overshadowing the rest of the production. It took centre stage. The other thing that drew my attention was the melody. My guess was that you took a midi pattern from the internet on dropped it into your DAW, chose a vst and a sound that you liked, and played around with the midi notes, anyway, I think some effects would breath some character into the carousel-like lead instrument. I would dirty it up with some send/return effects. A bit of filtering/phasing and I would pan the two lead sounds to 10 and 2 o'clock.
Also, the pluck of the lead sound has too much bass so roll off the low-end. The snare lacks its body so add some with an eq at about 150-250Hz. The other samples danced around in the background at a lower volume and didn't cut through in the mix, keep experimenting to find a way to push them through and give them there own sonic character. For example, at the start there are some Ice Rink-esque hats - find there fundamental frequency/sweetspot by sweeping around with an eq and give it a little push (I'm guessing about 2KHz), then roll off the high (7.5KHz) and low-end (the low-end would be about 750Hz. Then add distortion effect to color the frequencies. You used two classic Wiley samples and that's all good, but maybe they have been heard too many times by people. I do love that signature sound that he used on so many albums and riddims.

I thought the progression of the track was nice, sorry if I sound harsh, I just hope I can help pal. Keep digging man and feel free to let me know what you think.

Sick, get someone to vocal it tho, it has potential

Love the drums as well, when it's mastered and cleaned up I reckon it'd sound good on a radio set

Beatmaking-producing is a craft. In music, all rules are to be broken, because music is free. But breaking the rules doesn´t mean to ignore them. One must learn and respect the rules, as they are in place for some reason. But, once you know and respect them, you can walk the next step and break them. Nobody can tell you something is "right" or "wrong" in music.

This said, you shouldn't use loops, AT ALL, because many starting producers, rappers and fans in general will know it. You need to come up with something fresh nobody has heard before. However, there are many ways of "transforming" a sample to make it sound completely different, such as chopping, filtering, and all kind of effects. Try to be original - that is the only rule you should never break.

Been producing for some time now, but never really developed the way I should have (not committing to developing music knowledge or intricate production techniques). I know I can come up with some sick ideas but a lot of the time I get stuck in a 8/16 Bar loop rut. Anyway, I just uploaded a few tracks that I'm near to finishing/ finished/ need some more work. Would love to have some feedback from anyone really. Cheers.
