Liverfool are nowhere near a top 4 finish. Their best two players are banned for 10 games and ageing respectively so son't expect either to have much influence next season then add in at least 1 centre back and possibly Reina look likely to leave and all you're left with is another capable team with no consistency.

Sending for me yeah? Still pissed that your boy Rooney isn't as good as people make him out to be? The arrival of Van Persie is case in point tbh.

Suarez will miss the first 6 games, and as long as they have 2-3 home games and the opening 6 fixtures aren't too tough on them they'll be fine.

Their defence is actually very good but they have an unreliable man between the sticks an they lose the midfield battle too much because they have no players there who are great or can run run run, pressure, no technical players in the middle. That's why they lose to teams who simply outnumber or put more energy there. You look at the games they've lost this season and a lot of them games they'd lost the midfield battle and weren't clinical enough i.e. vs West Brom

They now have a clinical striker in Sturridge and Suarez link up is one of the best in the league already. Coutinho is looking like a problem too.

If they bring in a player of Coutinho's ability or similar to replace downing, get a proper CM and replace Reina, they WILL compete for top 4.

Liverpool bar Suarez serious lack star quality, they have lots of good players but nothing that stands out.

Don't need to have standout players if you work well as a team. You simply need people good at their role.

Wasn't offended. I enjoy reminding people of the Rooney threads from 2/3 years ago and the comments they now regret making.

Your twentieth title is well deserved but irrelevant to the subject in hand btw.

    Coutinho? Sturridge? Gerrard?

They have just as much as Everton and Spurs do.

I saw an article that Liverpool are looking at Remy

    Sturridge
    Remy Suarez Coutinho

Rodgers from his Chelsea days & since, has shown that he likes goalscorers as wide players.

We'll see if that transpires, I want Rodgers to be more aggressive, in terms of trying to get Liverpool to challenge for the title next season.

It is hard to argue that they have players to match Spurs and Everton but as I stated before I can see them breaking up what is their biggest plus point - the stable defence. Carraghers gone, one or both of Agger/Skrtl expected to leave and possibly Reina as well.

Coutinho has started brilliantly but can't elevate him up there yet.

i don't think we are that far from a top 4 spot. @Bocat is right we probably need a winger and a good central midfielder to replace gerrard and of course another defender as skrtel and agger are probably too similar. the stick reina gets is unwarranted in my view given that we have kept more clean sheets than anyone in the league apart from man city

People say the same about Arsenal regularly. Our style and end of season run is what pulls us through.

Liverpool need that consistency with a couple of extra players, and they'll be there or thereabouts tbh
