If its hitting your traps then its highly likely that its hitting your rear delts. You should have a pec deck at your gym, so use that and hit it in reverse, should feel it in your rear delts. Is probably the best thing for hitting them. Also the same movement but with db's will give your the same outcome. Lying rear laterals, quick google should give you some vids of you, those are a killer.
Your normal shoulder presses should be hitting your medial deltoid. Try switching it up between db presses and barbell presses. If you have a smith machine then try it on there aswel.
