strong smh at the first line

lol at how long this whole purple gimmick has lasted already though

disclaimer - i do not care still, as long as good music is being made

edit - *Joker* I've had a vision of what I want: it's me standing there looking really lost, there's a sea behind me, and something's coming down, this rich purple - a bit like Rainbow Road, in the game [Mario Kart], and there's fruit pastilles raining from the sky. *Joker*

woah its actually crack or suttn, not just gimmicks

cool piece, purple grime? this is just another rebranding thing, like eski beat, dubbage, etc etc.

dunno about this tho - "They come from the same place - the estates and pirate radio stations of London - and you can still see some family resemblance in their heavy basslines"

    grime has heavy bass? :|

also, teddy riley didnt make g funk lol.

    not purple grime, just purple

Never heard of this Guido guy before, his stuff don't sound as good Gemmy, who doesn't sound as good as Joker. Gemmy's Fact Magazine mix is big though.

    *download's Joker's mix*

Most Joker tracks I just label Grime and the odd few Dubstep, I can't be fucked with this whole Purple shit.

Joker, Gemmy and Guido are all making interesting music, it is a sub genre imo but not a genre within itself.

truesay i do the same aswell but in all honesty though it's hard as dubstep and grime share charecteristics, both have an emphasis on bass and are around 140 BPM, however if i hear lets say a joker tune and there's violins and other mid treble synth sounds or instruments i just label it grime as you hear more grime songs with treble sounds than dubstep. I think purple is a nice term but i cant be bothered with that, for me i think it would be a lot easier to just marry grime and dubstep together.

    Joker > Guido > Gemmy

Rustie is massive as well, I'd say his stuff fits in alongside.

I wouldn't consider their stuff a subgenre of either grime or dubstep tbh

I was listening to Rustie - Bad Science EP last night it was good.

Also Emvee - Glitch Dub / Nocturnal is alot, although that's more on the Funky side of things
