not a total failure, some good performances in europe (some awful, same with the league i guess)
but there in a good position in the league, remember a few years back they where in championship, next season they will get rid of the shit players (vassell, gelson, caicedo) bring in the likes of veloso, another good striker (eto'o maybe? or henry) and they will get in the 5th-6th position, with or without hughes

Can't say he's a failure when they could easily finish 7th. Next season is a massive one for him as he'll have had a full summer of spending beforehand

    * Craig Bellamy West Ham Manchester City €15.4million
Glauber Berti Nurnberg Manchester City Loan
Jo CSKA Moscow Manchester City €19.5million
    * Nigel de Jong Hamburg Manchester City undisclosed
Pablo Zabaleta Espanyol Manchester City €8.4million
Robinho Real Madrid Manchester City €40million
Shaun Wright-Phillips Chelsea Manchester City €12.4million
    * Shay Given Newcastle Manchester City undisclosed
Tal Ben Haim Chelsea Manchester City €7.6million
Vincent Kompany Hamburg Manchester City undisclosed

Doing all that and finishing 7th = FAIL

Rafa would be hung by his garters if he did that.
