Surely Yaya Toure or someone in this mould would do a lot better for Arsenal. Imagine Fabregas playing where Gerrard plays when Torres is fit, just off Eduardo/Persie or Adeybayor, feeding balls into them from the edge of the box- with the added force at the back.

Admittedly im at a loss as to why we are apparently signing Arshavin but I very much doubts it is to appease the fans, Wenger is not the type to bow to fan pressure, he's alot smarter than that, he must have real plans for the player if indeed this is true.

But still i think us (arsenal fans) give too much credit to Wenger. Arshavin is a luxury signing, more vital positions which desperatley need strengthening. If we going to sign him, its gona take the majority of our budget as well.

All im saying is, if he signs Arshavin its because he has genuine plans for the player & not just a signing to quench the thirst of the fans, the second a manager does that his days are numbered.

Well my memory is quite good mate, Wenger came to English football and introduced a new style. He put players on proper fitness regimes while players in other clubs still having a a pie and burger before the game. Wenger inherited a great team of players and he added to that. His tactics and game plans are average,( i would even go as far as saying that he is naive in the last few years). While the game has move forward, Wenger hasnt. His scouting network was the only major thing that put him levels above other managers but now everybody has caught up.
He has made a title challenging squad into a depleted, not motivated, full of average players in one summer ! Wenger is slippin and has been for a few years.
Not saying i want Wenger to go, and i fully agree he has been ONE of Arsenals best managers but people need to get off his dick occasionally and think that maybe its time for a new start with a HUNRGY manager who wants to prove a point.

Again not really, Mourinho was winning titles and his squad looked like they cared. Complete opposite of Arsenal in the last 4 years.

Yeh but when we have a manager who refuses to buy players we are in desperate need of, because of his stubborness/ to prove his point you need to think whats best for the CLUB not the manager.

I think the title of this thread would suggest that thats not the case, its not stubborness, he never really had the p to spend, it goes deeper than your analysis, he buys players that he thinks are right for the club & at a reasonable price.
