I just rip clips from youtube and sample, some good tekken and old school arcade games on there, some good samples.
yh i found some vst's with nice sounds on, actually made 4 tunes with some sick arcade sounds now lol.

Some of emulators (KEGA is one of them) will make a wav dump for you so if you have a rom of a game you can just go to options and take what ever music you need. i have got Super Nintendo ones that go deeper and allow you to mute out certain layers of the track. Good if you wanna remove all them tinny drums.
