    Google "Sid music".

The best sounds are 8bit and come from the Commodore 64 Sid chip or Gameboy imo

Some of emulators (KEGA is one of them) will make a wav dump for you so if you have a rom of a game you can just go to options and take what ever music you need. i have got Super Nintendo ones that go deeper and allow you to mute out certain layers of the track. Good if you wanna remove all them tinny drums.
