which software? generally start with beats, whatever your using probably has some sort of step sequencer. just okay around with kick, snare and hi-hat positions until you feel a groove and go from there.
Got a lot of spare time at the moment and I've been wanting to give producing a go for a while now, got all the software and shit downloaded.
Basically... where the fuck do I start? lol I have limited knowledge and it all looks a bit complicated. Any help appreciated.

***(that was a crap link) right these aren't in anyway grime based. but its a good starting point, have a look at theses drum "tabs" recreate these in fruitloops it'll help you understand how shits working. i'm not a fruit user so I'm probably not the best person to ask. But start with a beat and you can't go too far wrong
infact thats a bullshit site. even still have a look at drum tabs, or drum patterns. find a track you like work out the tempo http://www.all8.com/tools/bpm.htm then try and copy the beat, kicks in the same place, snares, etc etc it wont sound the same but it'll give you an idea if you get what i'm saying
youtube tutorials help alot if your stuck on something in particular. for generally getting started look up something like 'how to make a hip hop/grime beat to get an idea of what to do
