    I ain't listened but still MGS >>>>>>

MGS4's ending was painful enough to watch though, felt bad for the man when going through them microwaves. I'm not really sure where they can take it though cause 4 pretty much closed everything except for what did happen to Snake after he was told he only had a few months to live.

@Pred Your THE MGS guy on here, is there anything they didn't close up story wise? I can't remember there being any plot holes or anything and Kojima said MGS4 was mean't to be the last (just like 2 & 3 lol)

Snake fights Ocelot, and after explaining some stuff, Ocelot dies. Then after the credits roll, Snake is in a graveyard, and he is about to blow his brains out (to avoid Foxdie mutating within him, and killing anyone who breathes in the Foxdie he breaths out) when Big Boss appears.

They talk for a while, then Big Boss brings out Zero, who was the boss of the Patriot organisation. He explains that everything that happened between Big Boss/Zero/Ocelot/etc all came from their own interpretation of The Boss' (MGS3) will. He then switches off Zero's life support. At the end of that, Big Boss dies from one of the Foxdie strains in Snake's body, bringing an end to all of the Patriots (the humans and machines behind it are all gone at this point). It's basically over for Snake, and so he goes off to live his last few months in peace.

I listened to the podcast (all three hours of it, despite MGS5 being covered in the first half hour) and they basically say how it's going to be a Big Boss game set in Africa in the 70s. I can't remember what year they said, but it makes the Snakes about 3 years old.

So really MGS4 is still the end of the story and anything more is a prequel. That's how it should stay anyway, theres only so much over-explaining you can do. Its the nanomachines.

@TrueGrimeMan yeah, basically. Rising is after the whole MGS saga, and as all is said and done at that point in the timeline I can't see there being many cameos or references. The only remaining characters are Raiden, Sunny and Otacon, really. Oh, and Meryl and Johnny . Everyone else is dead or too old.

@kyro I forgot to answer your OP question. I can't think of anything that's left open at the end of MGS4, although with 5 being Big Boss I can't see it mattering anyway lol. I doubt they'll ever revisit a time that close to 4 outside of Rising, and that's separate and a large enough span of time ahead that all is forgotten and new problems exist.

I have only just seen that latest trailer for rising. It actually doesn't look half bad or maybe I'm just compromising and caught a few glimpses of stealth in there.
