    You can EQ it out but then youll be affecting any other instruments in the sample. Either find a part of the song where the drums drop out for a bar or two, or failing that youll have to mix it in with some of your own drums to disguise the original ones a little.

    Filter out with EQ and use mono phase cancelation tricks.

    pretty sure its: split a stereo track into two mono tracks, invert one of them, play them back and anything that was mixed equally on both sides (not panned) should cancel out

    at least I think that's the technique

    There's a plugin at http://www.voxengo.com/group/free-vst-plugins/ called Voxengo MSED that can help you split up the side and the mids. Duplicate your sample and play them simultaneously with different stereo and phase set and you can get some different shit out of it. Just make sure it works in mono on the master.
