your not going to build big calves by doing endurance training, that sounds perfect for a footballer, not for somebody trying to build calves... you need high weight, medium reps

@Kebab yeah calf raises, do you do them one calf at a time or both at the same time? if both at the same time switch to one leg at a time, that way you will be doing more weight as it's all on one calf. also to add extra weight you could hold a dumbell or kettlebell with one of your hands, But yeah take not to what Stephan said also

still not heavy enough, your body walks all day lifting your weight, you need a bar with weight on 100k+

i dont think it is? i mean, your body taking in protein and repairing your muslces is irrelevant regardless of the stage of training, as long as there are muscles to be repaired? if anything, wouldnt it be more important in the first year of training when your muscles really ache and need protein constantly cos your body isn't used to it/the pain/ache?

you can get the amount you need from food, you will grow enough from that... just my opinion from what I've seen

yhyh but don't add the maltodextrin 3 times a day u will get fat lol and only start at half a scoop or one then increase accordingly...you shouldn't get chubby like i say do light cardio if your getting para about that lol

& Will Magnus is right to a certain degree the supplement thing is too over done but the dextrin works imo wouldn't waste money on anything other than that, protein, creatine & a pre workout which are only on occasion anyway

the marketing these protein companies have done is why people think they are a requirement to training

The bb and fitness industry is the biggest lie going tbh. Every top athlete is on or has done steroids or a ped at sme point. Testing is a joke And even the better tests have ways of getting around them through clever use and timing of short estered injectables. Every protein sponsored athlete is on juice. In the off season I can guarantee pretty much all top athletes use something weather it's just gh for recovery or short estered test like prop and suspension (yes, suspension, not sustanon).

Makes me laugh when you read reviews on MyProtein. "I've been taking this whey for 3 weeks now and can already see good muscle gains" smh. Aslong as people realise what "supplement" means then it's all good, it's not meant as an equivalent of eating its meant to add to your current diet to help assist your body in getting its nutrients. When you see guys first starting out in the gym and they say they eat whatever they want but it's alright cos they drink protein shakes all day so they're gonna look massive in a few months <<<

I weighed myself today, 72.7kg and I can bench 70kg so I don't think that's too bad, 13.5% body fat can someone tell me if that's good or not

The way I look at it is, during a bulk it should be seen as a supplement. During a cut it can be seen as part of your diet.

technically you can grow on shakes and just carb foods. look at vegan and vegetarian bb's, one in particular from another forum posted his diet up once and there honestly wasn't much to it and he looks better than 95% of that forum considering its a bb one. however whole foods give you more than just the protein, which is what you want.

If that was directed at me, I wasn't saying it wouldn't work. I'm just saying that your average person should be looking to get there protein from actual foods.

Couldnt most of it be down to genetics though? Im not disagreeing really it was more the guys who arent vegans or whatever and yet they think by basing their diet around protein shakes is gonna get them hench in a few months. Id still choose good diet with the use for supplements rather than relying on them for most of my diet though but thats just me. Some girl took the piss at work the other day, i was making a shake and she came up and went "do those protein shakes actually work?"

Genetics plays a huge role in all bb'ing.....some people can eat utter shit and still look ridiculously good, others have to be very strict just to achieve moderate results. I suppose you're right yeah, the average joe won't be able to do it with just shakes and good carbs, I don't think. TBH I talk about most things to do with lifting and stuff from an AAS using point of view.
