hes a RB predominantly, cos Jack Robinsons the young Lpool LB.
Does sorta make sense in regards that Richards is gonna have more of an ego and may have reacted badly to being seen as extra cover for just one game, whilst an U21 RB will just see it as experience training and potentially playing with the senior side.

Read an interesting comment from someone on teamtalk and it's probably near to the mark after thinking about it.
Richards has just gone off on holiday after celebrating the title win with Man City, so calling him back from holiday only as cover in a friendly could be seen as pointless and could possibly just piss him off?

He should've been selected as first choice for the euro's anyway IMO and he's good cover as CB too. I think Hodgson called this one wrong but we'll see when the tournament starts whether it was a good or bad decision. No point dragging the guy back for a pointless friendly if he's on holiday tbh.
