Man don't know about Carrick, unsung hero.

Carrick to drop deep, Modric to dictate play and Kagawa to link midfield to attack, it's alot tbh.

Even if Modric doesn't come (n/h), Scholes can play that role. Also with Cleverley looking to return and maybe even that div Anderson can play a role too.

I don't hate Mikel. But Chelsea fans rate him very highly and attribute quite a bit of success to his performances. I just don't see it.

I believe it's to do with for instance, that a Manchester United fan & a Chelsea fan watching 'Manchester United vs Chelsea' the fans are watching the match from two different perspectives.

When United are attacking for instance more often when the move breaks down it's more likely they think that there attacker messed up.
Whereas the Chelsea fan watching that situation is more often likely to think.. sicck defending. That & frequency of viewing.

Modric, Carrick, Mikel, Busquets. etc. etc.. Deep lying play-makers who fans seem to have love-hate relationships with.
Whenever things are going great they sing their praises, when it's not so rosey they point out that they don't get any goals or assists lol.

If you rate Carrick for United, it's most probably because you watch most of Manchester United's games.
These players divide opinion any way, but, what I love is that, take Modric out of Spurs & see how much worse they are
Chelsea's mid-season slumps in recent seasons have coincided with Mikel being dropped & resurgences have coincided with him coming back into the team.

I hardly watch United's full games & Carrick isn't the type of player where you're going to understand his quality on MoTD. So when United fans generally unanimously say that he's had a great season & he's an asset, I don't argue w/ that. I can't argue w/ Fergie continuing to pick him
