Ivanovic is key at right back tbf, that's who we'll miss most, but Bosingwa has been playing well recently (for once)
I have a lot of confidence that Drogba can bully their centre backs and Mata can find the space as their regular DM (Gustavo) won't be there, no idea who is gonna replace him.
It's not gonna be as easy as some people think
this will be a completely different game than vs Barca at Nou Camp
Mata is useless when we don't have the ball so he'll have a different game than vs Barca
we'll miss Ramires energy, i think we'll have to play Malouda and Kalou as they both track back and help defend
Bosingwa almost cost us the game vs Liverpool, i'd honestly rather have Ferreria playing
Kalou will track back and help Cole with Robben, Mata in the middle to find Drogba

Just seen Chelsea are 4/1. Sick odds tbh, gonna throw some P on.
I agree, I think Chelsea again are in a precarious situation, who knows what type of season Chelsea will have next season without knowing the manager, we're an unknown quantity, not just that, I think our reputation has taken a battering in terms of being an attractive place for players to come to.
Another failed managerial decision, anti-football tactics.
It's not as bad as people saw the spirit & the fight & understood the situation, but, I don't think we're doing ourselves the best favours.
I think with AvB coming in, we have moved more to a possession based game, perhaps, Roman has become enraptured with the Barcelona style.
AvB was going to try & change it so we had players more suited to that style, I don't think now that he's gone, that will change too much.
Looking at Marko Marin, he's a small nifty player.
With all of these different managers that have come in for short periods trying to shape the squad a little their way, the squad is a little mongrel like.
Luckily we have had the Selection committee making some good decisions, but they've done some bad too.
I actually think that Chelsea has been a bit of a mess since Mourinho has gone but has hobbled along picking up trophies along the way, we have to get stable soon. It's very lucky Bertrand got given his chance, whenever he's come in he's been more than superb..
..but, if AvB got his way we'd have bought Perreira over him for £25m. What a waste that'd have been.
and it's likely we waste more money as no manager is going to come in & risk his job on academy players that are an unknown quantity to him.
I too think Di Matteo will be a car-crash & wouldn't surprised if we'd need to act again mid-season next season should he be appointed.
With Manchester City building confidence, if next season we do not assert ourselves as the pace setters in the Premier League, it'll be the continuation of the rot. We usually lead the table.
No doubt Roman is going to splash his cash again, but, will they be wise decisions, transfers aren't an easy to get right. I actually think Marin is great value at £6.5m & from the double-pivot down we're not bad at all. Just have to wait to see with the decisions for me.
In terms of the UCL, of course we have a chance, I think like the Barca games, we're deservedly the under dog though.
I hate that it looks increasingly like we're losing our English presence in midfield & attack.

Not against Newcastle
It would be interesting to see your posts from when we first got rid of AVB and found out that RDM would take charge until the end of the season, I might make an effort to find them.
Personally I think RDM has been great, aside from the Barca games and the Arsenal game when we played basically our B team we've still played exciting stuff and scored some great goals, our goals in the FA Cup final were great as well as the semi and we completely destroyed QPR too.
I don't want to change into one of these teams were the manager is the one and only person who can change things, having players like Terry, Lamps and Drog means that I feel confident we can hold out for results, while other teams who are blooding these inexperienced youngsters might turn leads into losses.
If we win the CL and RDM doesn't get the job I just don't know how I'll continue to stick up for what our club stands for tbh.
Here is a post I wrote 12th March, but, it's not an I told you so thing. I wasn't hopeful we'd get to the final of the Champions League
and we're here. Although even though we've done well in the cups, I have always said that cup competitions aren't the best measurements of quality. I usually say that for teams & talk about how league form shows better how a teams has been performing.
Cup competitions require a different set of skills, Rafa Benitez was known as a cup manager, Ancelotti won the Champions Lge twice for Milan & only won Serie A once even with the Caopooli(spelling) scandal happening within that time. At PSG Ancelotti isn't doing the best, we'll see how it pans out for him. Hiddink almost got us to a UCL final after taking over, Avram Grant did & now Di Matteo has.
I don't see RDM as proving his quality even with a Champions Lge win, he only began coaching in 2008, sticking around & doing coaching to add to his experience would be what I'd do if I was RDM, it'd just be a poison chalice, he'll likely be sacked next season he has little experience as a coach to fall back on. This is a fire-fighting mission.
If he does get the job for me, the club hasn't learned from all the experiences of the last 5 years.
More reasons as to why I wouldn't want Di Matteo

No1 can even deny Chelsea have had a good season. Man City and Chelski are the only prem teams laffing this season tbh.
Everyone else has failed miserably, we've just failed but not as miserably as others so it's all good.
