Not sure if any of you were following the James Murray case earlier this year?? He's the son of an Earl and this is how the case started;

An aristocrat accused of raping a schoolgirl said ‘Sorry’ to her 21 times in a text hours after the alleged assault, a court heard yesterday.

The Hon James Murray, 42, is said to have raped the girl, a regular truant from her comprehensive, while she slept at his flat.

She has suggested that he spiked her Ribena to make her pass out.

Eton-educated Murray, the son of the Earl of Mansfield, denies the rape charge. He claims they had recently begun a consensual relationship, barely a fortnight after her 16th birthday.

But in the hours after she woke up – allegedly finding her tracksuit trousers pulled down to her knees, and Murray naked beside her – he sent her a barrage of texts.

Oxford Crown Court was told that one said: ‘You should go to Boots and ask for the morning after pill. Sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry.’

Prosecutor Tim Clark said other texts said ‘Are you gonna call the police?’ and ‘Please don’t freak out over what happened’.

‘It happened between us but if you gotta go public with the drama then you’ve got to.

‘I will have to go to court on rape or whatever you and your friends make up like spiking yr drink.

‘But we were mates up until this thing. I hope to stay that way.’

The earl’s son has not denied sending the texts in June 2010.

I imagine they take a load of figures (such as rapes reported to charities, evidence of rapes noted by medics, number of women who say they've experienced a rape etc) and then compare it to the number of rapes reported to the police. I'm no mathematician though.
