Mata is a luxury player, one of the most important reasons why they took Mata off the left was because he was lazy tracking back..
I don't even think that Quaresma has a problem tracking back, any more than say a Ben Arfa does, he's not a significantly lazy player.

At Barcelona he fell out with Rijkaard & vowed never to return to the club, at Inter he hardly got a chance & the crowd turned against him very quickly, it was like a Torres transfer that just became very difficult very quickly. Now Quaresma has fallen out with his manager yet again at Besiktas & could be on the move, I hope he comes to the Premier League.

I think Liverpool could do with him, a club where he always going to get to play, a club that needs wide men.
I don't doubt that people that assume he's a youtube player, will change their tune & say he was always good.

I reckon Ben Arfa settled cos of the culture, Newcastle supporters are alot more vocal than most and football is alot closer to heart so Ben Arfa knew he had to give to the team to get back from the fans. Plus, he aint getting younger, and probably matured and thought I want to make something of my football.

Quaresma's much older than Balotelli, but, it's just like with Ben Arfa. At Porto & at Sporting & even for a good while at Besiktas he's gone w/o problem, at Chelsea he didn't kick up a fuss either

Ben Arfa caused all manner of problems at Lyon, you have to remember that Ben Arfa & Benzema came through together & Ben Arfa was the more mercurial talent, but, he had attitude problems (anyone see his clairefontaine fight with Diaby when they were kids( I think it was him any way))

Lyon sold him because of his attitude problems, but actually to show you how he has never been written off as a talent, Lyon actually tried to stop the transfer whilst it was happening & there was big debacle between Marseille & Lyon about it, but, it was allowed to go through.

Then again his attitude problems resurfaced at Marseille & Newcastle capitalised on getting him because he was tainted goods as a "bad-boy" & they also got the bad-boy discount, now coming to the Premier League, there isn't as much talent like that here as compared to Ligue un & so it was blatant Ben Arfa being the highest calibre of that type of player, he was due to blow.. but, then he got a long term injury which kept him out for a season...

This season he's been fit again, but had problems with Pardew. Ben Arfa was raised in Clairefontaine, Robinho talked about the same problems he has as a wide player in England. Ben Arfa was saying Pardew keeps on telling him to go down the line & put a ball into the box & that's just not his game.


He likes to dribble down the flanks & do pass & moves to get in behind or do through balls or cut in etc. So Pardew benched him, because they had a difference in agreement in style, Ben Arfa even said Swansea were his type of tema to play for & this I remember was before everyone else really jumped on the Swansea band-wagon.

If this was in France & Ben Arfa was benched he would have gone insane, but, he seems more mature now, it's weird, maybe that injury & the long lay off cooled him down.

No, I think you're misunderstanding it. What's been working for him is his usual game.. he likes to cut in & try to work goal-scoring opportunities rather than the basic Valencia/Beckham approach to wing play
