People like Flash G, Teddy, Rude Kid, G Tank and even Dot Rotten deserve there beats to be served up WAAAY more than these boring and replicated beats from Preditah. The scene definitely needs some dark, nasty beats to bring back that gritty sound.

Preditah's instrumentals sound very similar, not to hate on the guy because he's done a lot back in 2011, but he's not very versatile considering the Circles beat is just getting rinsed constantly.

Think about it...since when have we heard beats like:

    G Tank - Bugz
    Faze Miyake - Milkshake Riddim
    Dot Rotten - Petrol Bomb
    Rude Kid -
    Skeamz - Lick 'em Down
    Z Dot - Dirty Date
    SX - Money 2

Logan is taking the piss now...Preditah & C4 are on Logan's label fair enough, but they are both very weak lyrically and in production. And for the last After Hours...well...that was shocking.

Preditah makes good tracks, if not a bit simplistic but they generally end up being the best tracks. Grime has enough styles to be what it wants. You got G.Tank, Teddy and Faze making the the Hip-Hop sounding stuff which I hate but others love. On the other hand I like the hype, raw sounding Grime from Spooky, Deset, P Jam, DOK, J Sweet, Preditah, Dexplicit and a lot of up and comers. You've also got a few making them dark, half step beats like Flash G who still manages to keep it Grimy without sounding like he's just listened to a hip hop CD, made a cheap rip off and added a square bass to it.

There's plenty of different Grime around, you just need to listen to more than just Logan and the top producers. Listen to some Nasty FM shows. They ain't scared to play up and coming producers and MC's music.

Preditah makes Grime. The highlighted names make Hip-Hop. What you're saying is we need Hip-Hop beats in Grime instead of Grime beats? OK.

there's hip hop side of grime then there's the dance side, making tunes on the hip hop side doesn't make them hip hop

S-X and Faze can't even be disputed imo. S-X to be fair has never said he is a Grime producer and Faze even admitted on that interview that he is Hip-Hop.

Dot hasn't made a Grime beat in ages and Teddy has admitted to making Hip-Hop and calling it Grime. If it sounds like Hip-Hop, it's Hip-Hop tbh.

No not at all, I think you're missing the point, the list I gave contained many producers you are just listing the ones which make 'hip-hop'. I'm advising that it would be better to vary the beats more for Logan's shows. It would give us a break from Preditah because he is overrated and had the spotlight for most of 2011. Need something fresh, not Circles on repeat thanks.

Yes, at least I'm not alone on this one. I repeat I'm not hating on him I'm just stating how he is getting far too much airplay for the quality of his beats.

Logan's going to play the beats he thinks deserve to be heard..
There's nothing wrong with having many styles of grime, just listen to other grime dj's if you don't like what he's doing

You specifically said he is making Grime soft though. If you had just said you'd like to hear more varied tracklists that would be different.

I also don't think Preditah's beats are replicated. Whether they are boring or not depends on the listener but to say his beats are replicated and then say you want more of the likes of Faze and S-X doesn't make sense. Preditah has many styles.

And tbh I kinda agree with the Logan point, he should be playing what the listener wants to hear, not what he's trying to sell.

I don't even have a beef with Preditah's beats. I just think I hear them too much. Probably because I only listen to like 3 different people's shows.

thuggish ruggish was a grime classic because there weren't people moaning on the internet about how it sounded like hip hop

there's plenty of grime djs who rarely play hip hop sounding grime, listen to them

listening to radio is the best way to find tunes you like, too many people seem to rely on grimeforum to provide them with the tunes then say grime is dead when it isn't delivering the goods

I'm not disputing any of that, good music is good music. But if you're gonna play Hip-Hop on a Grime show, you might as well re-name it the good music show.

My point is, you can't say a Grime producer is making Grime soft and then list 3 or 4 producers who make predominantly Hip-Hop to make it "hard" again.

Yes exactly my point, I have said twice now that it's not a personal problem, it's just all we hear now.

in the op when es saying soft though i didnt think he meant the beat of the tune, like grime can be any drum beat really and there has always been alot of 2/4 kindof hophop style beats but personal pref im not keen on preditahs beats, they have a really cheesy feel and even if they are grime by the guidlines they dont have a grimey feel to me, and they are getting overplayed
