I haven't heard all the releases on the label, didn't even get wonder years tbh, heard most of it though

I think it is though, feels different to the talented 10th mixtape.

two album of the year contenders here:

    sigur rós -- valtari
i've only given it the one listen so far, but it seems just as good as anything they've ever done -- which is high praise @Mr. Jefferies

    beach house -- bloom
excellent, possibly even better than their last effort. genre: shoegaze/chillwave/dream pop

what do you lot think of that death grips album? i gave it a fair chance, but i think i'm gonna have to place it on the odd future pile. hipster-hop.

it's pretty funny to see rave and dance elements arriving in american hip-hop at the same time as they're being expunged from grime, though.

Apollo Brown & OC - Trophies

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Trophies-Apo...5535385&sr=8-1

@EA @Joe-MCR and any Hip-Hop guys, anyone gave this a listen yet? I believe it came out yesterday, heard good stuff about it, listened to a few tracks and it's sounding great so far, will listen to it fully over the weekend.

I started listening to this a few days ago, it's pretty good so far. Apollo Brown is one of my favourite producers right now so I'm loving the production.

Death Grips is pure hipster-hop. When I first heard about them last year, I immediately saw them as another Odd Future and my prediction was right because the same people that love Odd Future, love Death Grips.

thee silver mt. zion memorial orchestra -- "the west will rise again" e.p.
much rockier (quite noisy, in fact) and less ponderous than the other stuff of theirs i've heard. really strongly recommend this one [video]

    grimes -- visions
saw her performing on this week's jools holland and was impressed. to be honest the album is not strong all the way through, but i'd say its high points make up for the low points. genre: electronic-y dream pop [video]

also listened to spiritualized's new album and didn't really like it, and i'm downloading swans' new live album right now.

    anoice -- the black rain
japanese post-rock. they're not exactly doing anything we haven't seen in the genre before, but what they are doing, they're doing very well [video]
