been slacking on new releases best thing I've heard is burial's kindred ep but I don't think it needs any more hyping lol

dirty three -- toward the low sun
nice, smooth, orchestral post-rock
unsane -- wreck
new release from noise rock/post-hardcore legends
gang colours -- the keychain collection
i'm no good at distinguishing between electronic subgenres, so my best description is just that it's mellow and kinda james blake-esque in places
that's all i have for now, but i have a few more downloads lined up and i intend to keep my ear to the ground from today onwards, so i will be subscribing to and updating the thread all year.

I swear i'm missing out on loads of music. I've got a few albums from the old thread that are really good.
Will get ones posted ITT.
A must listen for any underground Hip-Hop fans.

Quite a boring yr so far tbh - im still bumping '11 shit rly: juicy j, the weeknd, ASAP rocky, the dream, zomby, spaceghostpurrp, frank ocean, etc.
the recent burial ep didn't hold my interest at all, neither did the four tet collaboration that just surfaced; there's some gd ideas there, just v. Poor conviction by his standards - almost over-produced, I respect the Vision nonetheless.
Actress - R.I.P will be the record of the yr w/o a doubt, and I haven't even heard all of it yet. I'll bump this thread when it's out.
Speech Debelle - Freedom Of Speech
only just got it, haven't had a proper listen to it yet, but from what ive heard so far sounds good

"street halo" was the perfect balance, personally. "kindred" is gd but it doesnt hold my attention - it didnt need to be 8 mins rly; end it or take it somewhere else...he did neither. "loner" could've been decent w/o those kick-drums LOL but again, it didn't hold my interest throughout the entire song; and this is something burial for me in the past has been a genius w/, so yh the above applies again. "ashtray wasp" is like 3 or 4 tunes in one anyway but the only part of the track i midly felt was the last two minutes or so, and even that was lacking impact.
Best British rock band to come through in a while imo. Good indie Rock, vocals remind me of a 90's band, cant think who though.
Considering 3/4 years ago the music scene was saturated by guitar bands, its really gone quiet.
See's bare strange album artwork, gets confused, thinks wtf.
Ducks out!
One guy I've never really listened to is Apollo Brown. From what I've heard he's good but I just haven't got round to listening to a lot. What's his best mixtape/album.

The two albums I've listened to "The Reset" and "Clouds" are good. Clouds is an instrumental album and it's pretty diverse in terms of sounds. He's got his own version "Just Forget" on it which is one of the standout tracks on it.
He's got about 5 albums with Mello Music Group but it's just too much music to work through lol. I'm still working through Oddisee's discog.

Recommending the Shins' new album would be remiss, right? (It is great, though)
"Leaving Atlanta" by Gentleman Jesse is pretty good. About a close to pop as garage-folk-pop (Jesus, that sounds horrible)gets. "Pipe Dreams" by Whirr is good too, but I guess that depends upon your proclivity to "shoegaze". "Open Your Heart" by The Men is nice, sounds about as good as punk is gonna in the 21st century.
This album is brilliant. Repped (on recharge).
