    ok so i just downloaded fruity loops and im so confused right now could someone help me out on where to start or link me up to a good video tutorial?

    yeh i get that but like the samples that are there by default are like hard to make grime beats with for a beginner

    some of the samples are ok, there should be a vintage kit which is ok for begining with just messing about on it is the best way to learn and when u find a problem google it/ask on here and ur sorted

    i don't think you can specifically get 'grime samples' its more samples related to your own style, thats what you want to look at, i wouldn't know where to look, however i just thought id give a bit of advice so save you with endless searches and zero results.

    unless I'm completely wrong of course, if so someone please correct me!

    ah right yeh, what im tryna find is like different beats like you hav Hat, clap, kick and snare like more of them im not too sure what there called

    You mean drum samples, just google free drum samples and you should be able to find some free decent ones.

    ok cheers one other thing how do producers make that kind of deep grimey sound is it something to do with editing the sound of the normal samples?

    basically do tutortials from youtube, and when u find out about stuff then jsut experiment with everything u can.

    It's a lot of trial and error really

    Learn how to use the effects panel & get some VST plugins. Massive is a good one to start with.

    Ah ill have a look at what vst plugins are and whats best to use fruity loops or reason? i cant use logic cos im on pc

    I only know Fruity, can't really comment on Reason

    I taught myself FL (took years to get good at), I think FL is easier than reason

    Sorry to derail thread slightly but i've found with a bit of editing that default kick that loads up with fruity is actually hard.

    what i find hard is editing the basic sounds? like changing and distorting lets say the kick beat?

    There are hundreds of tutorials out there. A simple google/youtube search will find you a lot of stuff to help you.
