    Default Loefah Interview

Then I realised that I got to this point where I was playing to a crowd that I no longer knew or identified with and I was playing music that I didn't believe in.
Some guy in Holland in this town called Deventer climbed on stage, he was so angry. He was wearing a Run DMC dubstep T-shirt...the decks were there and he was just standing in front of me and he pointed at me and said, "Play some fucking dubstep!"

I was so pleased that I wasn't doing 140 anymore. And it was like, "C'mon Rob. Do me something." And he's like, "Yeah, but there's a lot of room left at 140 [BPM]." And I'm like, "No there's not, it's dead. Come on, do something for me, do something..."

It's quite bad how divided Dubstep has become and how all the 'Synthesized Rock' sounding Dubstep gets all the attention when people who making good music get largely ignored. The scene is in such a mess it's a joke. Grime may not be as big but at least it's still kept the essence of how it started minus the hip-hop sounding shit.

    Interesting interview.

Swamp's output is sick but I went to one of their nights (Loefah, Addison Groove, Boddika) and I can confirm it was fuucking booring. Absolutely no variation, just that 808 shit the whole night.

lol I get you, I can't really deal with that 808 stuff in a club, its nice to listen to on a radio set with variation (e.g. Oneman or Dusk+Blackdown) but its really too chilled out for me to ever want to rave to

its a weird direction that the music is going, I'm still waiting for a new musical movement for me to get fully into

Please no more movements; there are so many different styles and sounds available now that artists should be working to bring them all together not create further sub-divisions.

I dunno, I prefer Swims to any of those tracks. But then again I never really liked real dubstep.
