My point is that I am comfortable with Messi being named the GOAT. You cannot win every trophy every season, Zidane didn't. Messi has won it all at club level already, to slate him after the season he's had is laughable.
In fact, this season only serves to solidify his status as the GOAT.

I don't give that much of a fuck about trophies, Messi would still be one of the greats if he hadn't won as many, my point is Messi has won more than most yet he loses the league and CL this season and people are slating him for it and saying Ronaldo is better, off the back of three games, forget looking at his whole career or even his ridiculous performances this season, no, let's judge him off the last two or three games. i do think messi is on course to becoming GOAT but he certainly isnt now. probably will be by the time he reaches ronaldos age, but xavi will likely have retired by then so i want to see what happens after
but i do agree, he personally had the best season yet and he could probably break gerd mullers record after all these years. no one should expect him to lead barca to victory every time, especially when his wings are playing so ineffectively.
his performance in the last matches does however make ronaldo look good, since one of the main arguments of messi>ronaldo was that ronaldo cant perform in big games
