What don't you understand? Messi doesn't play at his absolute best for Argentina, yet is still far far better for them than 99.9% of players EVER have been. So if you accept that, which you must do seen as that's the one stick you've been beating him with, then you must also accept that because he is better than almost everyone else when playing BADLY, he MUST be the best ever when playing well?

I would add CR7 to this list for some of the amazing things he has done (in both the premier league and the Spanish league) and I would say as an all rounder (Ariel Thread, Free Kicks, Skill Moves, Shot), Ronaldo is better. Don't get me wrong though, Lionel Messi is the best at what he does and is the best player in the world atm.
I would love to see Messi prove himself in a different league tbh, having said that, I am content with him smashing La Liga and the Champions League.

Yeah I do tbh cos it's a silly way to look at things. If all his attributes are better then messis he should be a better player? that's why that saying is annoying because plenty of players you can look at and say they are faster, have a better shot, better free kick, stronger, better in the air etc but somehow a player who doesn't have as many attributes is the better player
Ronaldo isn't better 'all-round'. He's got strengths in a lot of different areas, but we don't see them all because of his selfishness - that's his achilles heel tbh. Mesi will be one on one and will still lay off the square pass for the team.
Ronaldo is a very good player and would be regarded as the best currently if Messi wasn't around. That's a compliment he won't like hearing but will have to live with.

He certainly does. Although when you look at their stats in the champions league against the highest quality teams messi trumps him. Probably cos they don't pay ronaldo too much respect which I have always felt is the reason why against the top top teams he doesn't look as convincing as messi
