He could be a star in the future. He has to leave Birmingham though (no send to Blues fans on here).
I kid, but on a serious note what's your opinie on him ? For an 17 from this country he is very talented.
He could be a star in the future. He has to leave Birmingham though (no send to Blues fans on here).
That's the worst thing he could do.
Houghton is a good manager and he is getting good game time. Stepping up a level now is likely to impede his development. So many of our players get introduced to higher level football to early. Look at guys like Pedro at Barca, he didn't get touched by Pep until he was 22/23, he continued to play for Barca B.
Playing competitive football in the lower leagues >>>> playing non competitive reserves game

Hunger me like the black beans on the rice
Love me like the first crush in your life...
He's good, it was mooted he was going to make his debut while they were still in the prem & he was uber young & he got good skills etc.
He's one of the better wingers coming through, I think he's a better talent than Sterling the way it's going.
Spurs Andros Townsend, is a very good player though, I dunno if he's cup-tied tonight, but, I feel he has the ability to cause defences looooads of problems
Aint seen Redmond play, don't believe the Sterling hype and don't rate Townsend
I don't agree. I hate focus on competitive football as something that improves players. I think that particular ideology is holding English players back. Playing for Birmingham will not improve him anymore than it's helped any other player getting regular Championship football.
Real improvement comes through deliberate practise & from being in a more competitive environment.
Look at Sturridge, he hardly got any competitive football until he was almost22, whereas Walcott got tonnes & they're the same age.
In fact I'd argue that sometimes NOT playing competitive football at a better club could be better for a player.
I look at Oxlade & the way Arsene is treating him, he's obviously using all of his experience to try & do what's best.
Would he be a better player now if he stayed at Southampton? Or he had been playing week in week out already for Arsenal?
I think with Oxlade right now, there is more focus from Arsenal in improving him as a player behind the scenes, rather than putting his focus on trying to help Arsenal get results... which was the focus at Southampton & which could have been the focus at Arsenal.
Wenger said recently that he now believes between the 18-21 range he wants to use players less as injuries at that age could have detrimental effect through their career.
If it was me I'd rather be in Oxlade's position tbh. I think people mislead talents. Talk of impeding development, is basically just reputation.
It's not development. When people don't get to see you play, they'll say you have stalled, but, what I hope for the likes of Oxlade at Arsenal is that immense work is going in to his game, because you improve so much more on the training ground than you do on the pitch.

Zaha >>>>>>>> Redmond.
Redmonds good, just seems to be a bit too like Walcott atm. Hopefully playing regular Championship games will help him like it has Zaha and in a few years he could be brutal.
C/S on staying in the Championship, Palace have had guys like Julien Gray, Wayne Routledge, Tom Soares, Ben Watson, Victor Moses, John Bostock all leave before they should of and flopped. Could have all been decent mid table prem players week in week out at the very least.
I personally do not think those players would have got significantly better by staying at Crystal Palace. I don't know your team like you do, but, you've listed a number of players you feel only needed extra time at Palace to become super, name me players where that scenario has worked.
They've stayed at Palace & become good/super etc..
I think hes sick, should stay where he is for 1 or 2 more seasons. Can see him bein a future star tho.
lol, leave it out. Routledge is at a mid table prem club, Moses is one of the hottest young talents in the league and Watson has also played prem football for the last few years. Bostock is still highly rated by Spurs, don't write him off.
Julien Gray and Soares weren't very good in the first place IMO.
WHU > QPR
I must keep this avatar and sig untill further notice for losing a bet enforced by Hij.
Routledge has only just settled at a decent club, before that he was playing irregullarly for a mid table Championship side, and underperforming, newly promoted Prem team.
Moses has only just come properly into the mould at Wigan, before that he was poor Plus I rarely see his name mentioned in high regard.
Watson was a bit part player, and Soares was a better talent than him too.
Bostock aint rated by Spurs, hes 20 now, been there 4 years and played like 3 games and been out on loan shit loads.
