Don't think Rooney should play up front by himself, Sturridge and Chamberlain should switch wings. Not use Gerrard.

Gerrard, Cole and Parker should not be in the starting 11. England need a youthful resurgence.

    Welbeck
    Ox-------Rooney------Johnson
    Parker------Wilshere
    Cole---Cahill---Jones---Richards
    Hart

The fact that there can be actual debate about who to play is pretty exciting times for England, shows there's lots of new talent coming through and we can finally start getting rid of all the old deadwood.

This but with Sturridge on the right instead of Johnson.

Sturridge must be mad. Says he hates playing the wing then everyone puts him there.

Oxlade Chamberlain shouldn't be in the England squad yet.

    Frank Fielding on the bench...

All the City players on the bench bar Hart.

That's a pretty good selection from GN.
Although AOC is a bit too raw to be first 11 I think.
Also Gary Cahill should be first 11 I think.
Gerrard is getting on now, but he does play well with Rooney. 2 Scousers on the same wavelength it seems.

Oh yeah...and Walker instead of Micah Richards or Glen Johnson!
    That's not happening.

Carroll hasn't done enough to even get on the bench imo

Solid team. I'd choose the exact same, except for Richards over Walker but I can see why KW might get the nod he's been equally impressive this season

tbf it's not that bad, agree with most ITT that you can't have Walker over Richards (I do prefer Walker though) Smalling is not ready either, wouldn't have gerrard either, other than that it's not bad though.

i honestly think parker and cole are the most notable players to have achieved what is expected of them at international level. ashley cole is the definition of consistency and in my opinion in the last few tournaments he's been one who has always come home with his international reputation still upheld. cant drop your best players regardless of age.

increasingly agree on the gerrard front though. doesnt seem to fit into the new england set up well. beginning of the decade he was the mirror image of the player he was at liverpool. now he doesnt even come close to how influential he is at his club.

Parker has arguably been the best performing England player in the past couple of games and you want to take him out coz his age

Anyways agree with every player there bar Gerrard don't want to see that guy pick up an England shirt again
Carrick and Wilshire sitting with Young behind Rooney

I was watching the Sunderland math earlier and when Cattermole got booked I remembered when someone on here said he should be starting for England (possibly @Eric Cantona )
