fuck that of course they do.
resistance fall of man had the best storyline that I've ever played and a lot of people love the Metal gear solid storyline.

I agree with him for the most part. Though I can say comfortably that a some of my favorite games tell a great story, I can also say that too many fail at doing so...and they fail while losing sight of the gameplay.
To be sure, it's hard to tell a good story in a video game..I agree. Most of the time It's really lame. See: Gears of War. Other times it's overrated. See: Halo series. Game developers need to worry about presentation. all game stories are just the excuse for you to kill things. Atmosphere is all that matters in a game to me. Look at Mass Effect. It's atmosphere and art style is very very good, and the story is so generic and unoriginal. But people think it's great just because of the atmosphere.
fuck that of course they do.

@morris
Video games are a very under-utilised medium when it comes to storytelling and writing. With so many talented TV writers out of work, I don't know why more companies aren't hiring a room to come up with the story.
I disagree but I hate them games where they force some kind of story into a game that don't need it. Fight night, NFS, tony hawk etc.
Me and my mates playing san andreas the day it came out, passing the pad. Then one of my boys starts skipping all the cut-scenes i was like [Big H]cuz[/Big H].
Most games have shit stories/cut-scenes, the ones with dead cut-scenes that they won't let you skip<<<<<
Alan Wake was good, imo.
uncharted >>>>>>
How's Jaffe gonna say that when he is Mr God of War, a story that spanned across 3 games (although, it seems he didn't work on the third game)?

All games are shit apart from GTA tbh, every single game in the world
