I can't see them up-porting (did I just make that up?) a main GTA, purely because it's time and effort that can be used on a different title. I would imagine they either planned it to be an early title for next gen (that would explain the lack of news, although I don't think a game as big as GTA would be good that early on in a console's life), or it won't be on any next gen console.

And by next-gen console, I mean PS4/720. The WiiU is roughly equivalent to current gen consoles, so it's not as much of a stretch to make that version too, But if you start including PS4/720, that's 5 consoles that they would be developing for, ignoring the PC port which I imagine would come later. Like many games at the end of last generation, it will be exclusively for the current generation (and WiiU).

GRAND Theft Auto fans have something to get excited about following the release of a Gamescom 2012 trailer featuring a quick glimpse of GTA V.

While the footage previously appeared in the GTA V teaser trailer released back in November, its inclusion here fuels speculation that a big reveal of the hotly-anticipated sequel will take place at the German games show this August.

With current details about the game thin on the ground, gamers will no doubt be flocking to Cologne hoping to sneak a peek at what developer Rockstar has in store.

Take Two will attend GamesCom 2012, new GTA V details expected?

It has been officially confirmed that Take Two will attend upcoming GamesCom 2012. This raises small glimmer of hope that finally new details about Grand Theft Auto V will be revealed.

Take Two has not yet revealed their line-up for GamesCom 2012, but it is expected that the list will include BioShock Infinite, Borderlands 2 or XCOM. Whether we get to hear something about GTA V at GamesCom 2012 only time will tell.

For gamers who are unaware Take Two is official distributor of Grand Theft Auto V. GamesCom 2012 begins August 14.
