Depends what you mean by performance. Heaviest weight able to lift? Or performance in a run/box/MMA sense?

I guess this is a question whether we're training for Strength or Muscle Size? I'm training for muscle size. I guess you can do both when you're starting but then you have to take a path but still, Bodybuilders are some strong fuckers and on powerlifters you can't see the muscle :P
That's at a really advanced level pretty much.

Performance in the sense of training for a sport or something yeah.


I guess this is a question whether we're training for Strength or Muscle Size? I'm training for muscle size. I guess you can do both when you're starting but then you have to take a path but still, Bodybuilders are some strong fuckers and on powerlifters you can't see the muscle :P
That's at a really advanced level pretty much.

Powerlifters aint even strong to be honest lol that sounds ridiculous but if there was no such thing as momentum then there would be no such thing as powerlifting.

Performance.
But I hate the fact that most of my nice clothes don't fit me any more! Might as well buy a new wardrobe once you hit the weights.

yeah i hear what ur sayin Meyer

but i dont train for strength i aint wantin to be a powerlifter, build muscle and the strength does come with it as i know from my own training lol, the strength gains wont be as quick as if i was doin a strength programme but it comes with it...works both ways tbh

see the statement about a strong muscle is a big muscle is valid yh but not in every case i know guys who are a good size yet man much smaller than them out do them on everything...:dead:

train to get big and strength WILL come with it >>> training for strength which is just dead (imo)

dont agree tbh, most famous bodybuilders started out as powerlifters

imo you should get to a decent level of strength on the main compounds before switching to a size-orientated routine

I play basketball so I train for performance. Almost every exercise I do goes towards improving my core-strength, speed & agility.
