Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb was undergoing a medical at Barcelona on Wednesday ahead of an £11.9m move to the Nou Camp.
Barcelona confirmed the deal for the 27-year-old Belarussian and he arrives as Ronaldinho travels to Italy for a medical at AC Milan.
Hleb had been linked with Inter Milan, but Barcelona have won the race.
Arsenal have also lost Matthieu Flamini to AC Milan and Gilberto Silva is poised to sign for Panathinaikos.

Barcelona have announced that Hleb will have medical tests throughout Wednesday and is expected to sign a contract on Thursday.
Barcelona vice-president Marc Ingla confirmed in June that they were in talks to sign Hleb, saying: "Barcelona's negotiations with Hleb are still in progress.
"But despite him being a player with special qualities, if his club are not ready to sell him, we have other options in mind."
Hleb's departure from the Emirates Stadium has seemed likely all summer after the player admitted he was "mentally tired" of the combination of living in London and playing top-level football.
He joined Arsenal in 2005 after the club paid Stuttgart £11.2m for his services, and if he signs he will become Barcelona's fifth summer signing following the arrivals of Seydou Keita, Gerard Pique, Martin Caceres and Daniel Alves.

Gilberto, Flamini and Hleb all out.
Adeybayor still uncertain.
Nasri and Ramsey in.
Is Ramsey gonna slot straight into the first team coz I swear unless you invest your midfield looks LIGHT right now. I know Rosicky will be back, but hes not exactly that strong.

If Gilberto's gone I see this as a possibility, and I wouldn't mind it happening 1 bit. Although if Liverpool are desperate to get him a helpful bid for Alonso wouldn't disapoint.
Also I saw on sky sports news that in light of Barcas lack of Interest Arshavin has said he'd like to join Arsenal, just depends if Arsene wants him.

Weather and ridiculous amounts of money on their parts seem to do the trick.

If you think Arsenal are paying wages similar to Barcelona and Real Madrid you're kinda confused.

arsenal need a alonso more than a barry since they've let both their holding players go.

i believe there isnt that much difference in the wage bills
TOP PREMIER LEAGUE WAGE BILLS 2006/7
Chelsea - £132.8m (£114m)
Manchester Utd - £92.3m (£85.4m)
Arsenal - £89.7m (£82.9m)
Liverpool - £77.6m (£68.9m)
Newcastle Utd - £62.4m (£52.2m)
(2005/6 wages in brackets)

Noone is touching chelsea, so Barca will be in the same range as manu and arsenal... madrid might be a lil higher
Ppl think arsenal pay its players less the other top clubs, the above figures above proves otherwise.
Arsenal has a wage structure that keeps the wages of its top players and squad/fringe players as close as possible, while other club might pay there top players lots of money their squad players get peanuts(e.g Mekelele at Real madrid)

Barry - Left footer, experienced captain and hard worker. More pace- brilliant at corners and free kicks.
Alonso - On his day one of the most technical players in the world, brilliant eye for a pass, not very quick, doesn't burst forward often, but can shoot from long range.
Depends what you need, they are both good in their own right.

But were talking big signings, I guarantee Hlebs on more at Barcalona than he was at Arsenal. His sudden intrest in moving must have been sparked by something and I reckon it was Inter Milan coming in and saying we'll give you an extra 20,000 a week.
