its easier to use then audacity, and it aint resource hogging like soundforge.

Audacity for recording audio from your decks... free, easy, job done.

If you're wanting to screw about and do some processing/effects whilst you play or afterwards, it could be worth using Ableton or something.... not worth it if you're just wanting to record from your decks, though.

Pro tools HD if you can afford the setup, if not Logic 8 (if you have a mac) or even logic 5.5 on pc (known to crash).

Ive Always used Soundforge .
Remove pops and crackling with the pencil tool.
then track the mix. .
