what Joseph said and cuz i can walk down my road and ask most people about grime n they either won't know or they'll chat to me about channel u and that en 'grime grime' is it so they dont know, it'll only be dead when the vast majority of people stick their middle finger up to it and that's not gonna happen for time.

i'd like to hear peoples opinions on where grime's going though, i reckon it'll split and half will go more durty and dub and the other will go the wretch and kano route and do tunes with indie bands

SHANK BUTCHER
5th February '08, 10:11 PM
not saying that wretch has dun stuff with indie bands, the grime/hip-hop side i was on about
(had to rush post cuz of burning waffles lol)

I know this is off subject but....

Trusesay alot of people think im this big bassline head,...i cant listen to bassline for too long, when i go bassline raves im like where are the mc's man
or at least play an old eskimo tune like lol...

I love grime... the energy, the bars, some production, humble djs, the bloggers/ journalists, its all alot.

Grime aint dead coz i said so SHATAP!

Last year about 5 really big mc's and producers came through. I expect more people to emerge this year

They were around beofre but in 07 certain ppl came thru like

Maniac
P Money
Dot Rotten
Chipmunk - not a fan but is doing ok
Lil Dee
Rude Kid
DVA- thought he release a lot of good stuff
Trim and Goodz both released good new material
Free mixtapes - great way to show non grime fans the levels
Griminal - Finally emerged as a big MC
Rinse on sunday has been a lot

Grime aint dead coz there is many new artist's coming into the scene and others are upping the levels fast and furious. It's far from dead, if anything it's bigger. :cool1:

^^ true talk ive heard more talent in the grime scene than in any other.
If producers and the right artists get funding theres no telling the quality and genuine music possible.

I'm glad bandwagon jumpers have left and are now licking up bassline. Now it's time to really support and establish something and make some decent music and bangers.

Molecules
6th February '08, 01:36 PM
it's ingrained. it has it's own self-sustaining culture. it might be (mostly) dead to the mainstream but that never stopped underground music before

People Only Say Grime Is Dead Coz Everyone Was Saying Hip Hop Is Dead.
