"I'm a bit hungry you know cuz/ look, and i don't mean no rice and peas/ better know i'm on the grind i want p's/ dont bring beef to me coz i'll squeeze"
Zoop zoop zoop...
Lightening doesn't really get the recognition round here but i think he's decent. He's bars can be as entertaining as jendors, he's a hard worker plus he's been doing this ting for a while now.
He more than holds it up against griminal in this clip
What do you lot think?

Ive never rated him to highly because i dont think he can be a proper artist (if that makes sense) On sets sometimes i throw up a gunfinger or two like him, ghetts and devs on westwood was alot, i didnt cop his new cd purely because i see him as a set emcee and thats it, if anyone tells me diff i may d/l just to see...
also what beat is that on the clip its f'd!!
Danny Trejo

i have no problem at all with him. A 'set emcee' is for the most part my favourite type of MC, as much as i'll buy a mixtape or ten.

5th July '08, 11:38 AM
its true he hasn't got the dynamics of a proper artist yet but who knows he may progress. I could be wrong but I just got the feeling that a lot on people on here don't even rate him as a set emcee.
As for the beat I've no idea what it's called but i concur, f'd indeed!

Thats true but I still think they're in the same vein in terms of the the joke they bring to the mic and the images they portray. Both of them are literal light weights but go on say like they run the roads

lol i wasn't a fan at first but he's style has grown on me. In a scene where so many have prematurely put the mic down, you have to at least respect someone who has managed to hang around like a bad smell

eating that good food, cooked food is very gully trust me. When I play football i'm notorious (no hype) for my boundless energy. I attribute it to my no nonsense, no junk food approach to healthy eating, healthy living. I eat good, shit good and sleep good. Consequently I always have a competitive edge over the man thats smoking a cigarette and eating a pork pie before kick off.

....i'd say that lights is to ghetto what memphis bleek is to jay Z. They're both adequate emcees that are unfairly labeled as swag because they both operate in the shadow/ vicinity of much better spitters

there's worse MCs, he's nothing special but he's listenable most of the time. He has a couple of hype bars for the raves as well
