More Forum Stuff

Coming in the next 4 days... some new stuff. So... right now when you log onto grimeforum.com you are confronted with a splash page, but soon this is going to turn into a PORTAL.

To see what a portal is, check
www.rawk.co.uk (http://www.rawk.co.uk)

Ours will be slightly similar. You'll be able to see the recent posts on the right handside like in that example with a preview- click on it and go straight to that thread. The left handside will have links to the Grimepedia, Myspace, Bloggers and any other good grime related site. :itsalot:

BUT, The middle won't be like rawk, it will consist of up to the minute news of Grime as well as articles from the bloggers of grime. Reviews of Logans Show just after it ends etc etc, it should hopefully be a place people want to check back too.

so..............

Can you think of any other ideas to have on the portal (polls? etc etc)....
And does anyone want to contribute to the news section or as a blogger (only good and generally positive articles will be picked etc).

One of the best things about this site was the fact that it was purely grimey

If you're having trouble at the moment a portals gona fuck with the server lol. You have to run like 10-15 more SQL queries minimum per page and people will lock on a lot. That means your going to get overloaded lol, try doing a static version so it doesnt use as many resources. have it auto update like every 15 minutes.

on a real, you have very good ideas. wouldn't be suprised if by the end of the year this site has power to release material like magazines. liking this a lot. keep it up

The RAWK site is ugly, I agree, but the idea is there for whats on that page to be slightly similar. I have faith that me and Unknown Quanitity can come up with something that will impress you guys, we have managed to so far I hope :) - If it fails we can get rid of it- its not a problem.

Anyway those that want to skip straight to the forum will be able to do so by going to /forum or by book marking the current site.

There is also scope in the future for grimeforum.com to go straight to the forum and the other urls (grimesite.com / grime.cd / grimemusic.co.uk ) go to the portal, so there are always options.

I basically just want a place soon where people can go for all the opinions of the bloggers of the scene, the up to date news in the scene, imagine everything Logan says on his show actually published onto a site dedicated to grime and the goings ons.

I think it has potential and will pursue it anyway then you can make your minds up. :smug:
