swear the only improvement from the united game was decent distribution on our half + taking advantage of the cunts faults. that's how thin the line is both united, chelsea & us are so shit this year it doesn't take more than that to win?

Just banged £26.75 on Drogba anytime at 6/4, takes me down to my original £50 that I put in last weekend, also got a fiver on the Chelsea win at 7/4.

Good bet Chris you fucking numbnut

Back to square one with the original £50 lol

Ancelotti just needs £80m to buy around 4 nearly world class type players, we need a re-shuffle, it's gone stale.

We've never signed world class players, they've always had the potential but we've turned them into world class players, with the exception of Ballack probably.

n/s, but an expected response from a fan of a club who have spent so much that success was eventually inevitable.

So, when shit hits the fan, you need the money again? 'Stale', 're-shuffle' - flippant language, money doesn't grow on trees, Abramovich won't keep dipping into his pocket. No-one is spending 80 mill right now with the possible exception of Man City.

You're only 6 points off the top, and the problem is clearly one of confidence so I don't get the media inquisition.

Every team has weaknesses in this league - you still have more creativity than United, a better defence than us, players who know what winning is.

Lampard and Drogba will recover from their setbacks.

You have quite an old squad admittedly, but change isn't of urgent priority - getting a few scrappy wins is. Your players haven't got shit overnight.

Also £80m isn't going to buy you 4 'nearly world class' players.

Shevchenko was world class when you signed him.

fuck off, he was already falling off, reason why milan were prepared to let go, plus he wasn't suited to prem style of football, no player is gonna succeed when the manager never wanted him there in the first place.

This is true, I can't really be fucked to debate at the moment, but as people are saying, this is more than a blip now.......something needs to change & I feel the best way is to replace the players who left in the summer now, cos Ramires is shit, Benayoun isn't coming back anytime soon and we didn't even bother to replace Carvalho.

I'm not even talking someone of the quality of David Luiz, even if we could just get someone to do a job pretty well like Gary Cahill that would be good.

He scored 19 goals in 28 Serie A matches, and 9 goals in 12 Champions League matches the season before Chelsea bought him.

I'm not sure how scoring 28 goals in 40 games would signify him falling off. The only reason Milan sold him for £30m is because it was £30m for a 30 year old.

That was his 3rd best goal average at Milan in the 7 seasons he played for them. He was world class.

What's your solution then?

'Get Ray Wilkins back' probably

The fact remains we haven't strengthened properly for a few seasons while this squad has just been ageing.

Anelka looks like he can't be assed whenever he plays, Ramires is shit, Ferreira has fallen off horribly, Essien doesn't seem to be able to play a nice forward pass anymore, Malouda decided to give his final product ability to Theo Walcott & not ask for it back.

You can critiscise my posts as much as you want but unless you have a solution it means nothing.

My solution is get someone in to replace Anelka who can actually be assed, that would be a start.

lol fair enough, but still manager didnt want him as he didnt fit in with the team, it was abramovichs purchase not mourinhos, explains why he didnt do that well, plus he wasnt built for the physical nature of the prem

He was really shit, make no mistake.

How about Crespo?

28th December '10, 08:19 PM
Depends on your definition of world class, I don't think Crespo has ever been world class imo

Revz
28th December '10, 08:22 PM
I'd say world class is being able to get into a world XI and not looking out of place.

So he's probably not quite on that level (I'd have Sheva and Ronaldo in my world XI in the early 2000s for example), but he was still a top player.

man never felt at home here, did show glimpses of brilliance but on arrival he couldnt speak english was given a place to stay with no electricity, no phones and he didnt know how to get help and was just left there, think that left a lasting impression on the man and from then on he didnt really settle.

i memba him getting quite a few important goals for us like against wigan from outside the box bitd

you could probs add veron to the list of world class(or renowned top players) chelsea flops too

My solution is get someone in to replace Anelka who can actually be assed, that would be a start.

of course wilkins is the reason we've fallen off

he's the greatest assistant manager of all time, ancelotti's 2 champions league wins at milan were because wilkins text him tactical advice... don't take me for some prick that reads the sun

the solution isn't as knee jerk as "players are shit, need new ones", we can leave that to the national team, but yes i've been saying the squad is stale from the summer, i'm sure you've even quoted me saying it

the solution is time, kakuta playing from deep yesterday is the best he's looked for us, but he's 19 and isn't gonna replace lampard tomorrow

3 years of solidarity and development > 3 years of success for me atm tbh, as frustrating as it may be to gooners i have alot of respect for the financial aspect of arsenal

tbh, none of this would be an issue if drogba malouda anelka or kalou had their finishing boots on for the last few weeks

we have been below par though, and i think the attack needs a revamp, the squads attacking talent has gotten abit stale and imo that could include a rethink of the midfield, essien mikel lampard is the starting midfield, and it's really.. workhorse, long term i'd like to see a modric/nasri type player replace lampard

a new striker, like main striker who can play centrally and provide an alternative style to drogba a good few years younger is a must in the next season or 2, tevez would be a god send, even if it is impossible

but in summary, crisis talk is dumb, we'll still compete this season and ray wilkins can't seriously have had that much of an impact, as much as i like him and am gutted he's gone, if the players can't motivate themselves/get over it then they need to man up

i stand by this that i posted recently, if we beat bolton and villa, "crisis" turns into "difficult christmas period", and the difference between winning and losing those 2 games is the confidence of the players, not the ability or depth of squad
