pirate bay cited the grime scene as the one most ready for the death of the cd (2010)

i was wondering why certain man kept gettin booked in europe after doin no radio no nothin over there but i kno now...

adidasgrandad

So basically your saying Pirate Bay has helped grime abroad?

JoelBauta
1st February '08, 06:45 PM
they aint. Grime was kinda big in sweden for a while, and they were just trying to be hip. But i don't think they are pushing grime in any way. And anyways one of them is a outspoken racist, and they are all indited. Good riddance.

S.K.I.T.Z Beatz
1st February '08, 06:51 PM
they said grime is the most prepared... JOELBAUTA watch the film and u will see what they are dealin with... i dnt see rascists there but wteva

i believe it must hav helped grime in europe as the distributors are far too crap to get stuff out there and a survey said that 1 out of 3 downloads mainland europe is frm them

adidasgrandad
1st February '08, 06:52 PM
hmmm i wonder how grime is the most prepared...

S.K.I.T.Z Beatz

possibly because it has an army of online fans...

how can unsigned grime artists have more myspace views than a singer on a major?

JoelBauta
1st February '08, 07:00 PM
i'll have a looksie. But anyways, i doubt they are the reason you get bookings in europe, at least in sweden i know theres lots of enthusiasts that do clubs and book artists, and theres also some independent distributors. Who probably keep themselves updated throu sites like this and blogs. Though the dubstep scene has stolen a lot of the light lately.

hmmm i wonder how grime is the most prepared...

prob cos artist already doing the free mixtape thing. Also the cd's sales r quite small anyway so the difference should be minimal

would of thought dubstep could survive without cd's, as it already pretty much is

If The Death Of The Cd Happens, I Take It The Main Format Will Be Mp3.
And Does That Also Mean A Complete End To Vinyl?

Jason P
1st February '08, 07:59 PM
I highly doubt MP3 is going to be a major commercial format, since it lacks quality. Its a no-no for audiophiles. Though few people can tell the difference between 320kbps and raw wavs.

Look what happens with blueray.
We'll see what will happen in the audio industry.

Personally i dont think cds will dissapear, id rather have something physical. Especially when media formats come and go, with better rates of compression, u could spend a fortune on itunes and then have to rebuy everything again when the next format is released. Im sticking with cds.

I was on the Wii this morning checking the news and it said Pirate Bay is getting closed down lol they raided the office or something and charged these 4 guys about £200,000 for damages.

Bun Pirate Bay anyway, it's all about Mininova.

Just came across this.

People with free Promo's should contact PirateBay, and get themselves on the top of the 'featured' downloads at the top, especially if the owners are 'grime fans'

I generally download the features if they're not some emo-rock type shit tbh, just to have a look

It`s already been done, a war similar to HD-DVD and Blu-ray...except both flopped.

I don`t think many people care about increasing audio quality any further.

it's either that or they're trying to make it legal.
