Decimal odds are easier to work out, for me.

Say you bet £5 on Arsenal to beat United with odds of 4.50, you'll get 4.50 x £5 back - which is £22.50.

As for betting sites, as Kebab said, Betfair is the only one anyone should really be using.

Shanger I'd recommend taking advantage of most betting sites which offer a 'free bet'. There's a website running a free £20 no-loss bet at the moment but you have to put £20 in your account, personally I'd take advantage of that, if you're working, it's only £20, you can simply just use it to slam on a few bets here and there.

IT's better if you know how fractions work personally because they tend to be the favoured type. I think on most sites you can choose between decimals and fractions though. A friend of mine uses Ladbrokes and I know they offer that, they also have a simple accumulator programme which helps if you're sticking a minor £1 on about 7-10 teams. Not sure if other sites do this but Ladbrokes also lets you watch most of the horse racing on their website and some football matches (not usually the big games but some Premiership and Championship games).
