Hatem Ben Arfa could miss the rest of the season after suffering a suspected broken leg against Manchester City.

The Newcastle midfielder was taken straight to hospital in a waiting ambulance after being carried off on a stretcher at Eastlands.

Par for Newcastle man, he was looking promising for them as well.

The way i creased up laughing when I heard the half-time score at Liverpool-Blackpool.

Very peak if they don't win that match.

Vampire Wolf - You can't defend Henry. He's got form for shit like this. But I suppose it's no surprise you'd try n defend him being a Wolves fan. It's the same guys doings things like this... K. Henry, De Jong, Cattermole etc.

There are plenty of limited players in the league, they don't chose to jump into tackles like that less than twenty minutes into a game when its much easier to stay on your feet and apply pressure.

I know it's a cliche now but...

yc84l_vpyu8

If he's been sent off twice in his career, implies he's doing this under orders from Mick McCarthy? Maybe he watched too much of Holland at the World Cup or something.

the newcastle game where karl henry actually fouled barton twice? the rest was firm but fair tackles

Hij

Hij must be going ape shit

Nah just sad resignation.

I've seen the shit football in every single game we've played bar the Arsenal first half so its expected.

Several key quotes by Hodgson recently, starting with but not limited to "I don't care if we are 16th or 18th" - fuck me we aren't Fulham

“Unbelievable,” said the Liverpool manager, when asked whether his approach could be applied on Merseyside as effectively as it was in west London. “How many clubs have I had in 35 years? What do you mean, do my methods translate? They translated from Halmstads to Malmo to Orebro to Neuchâtel Xamax to the Swiss national team.

The greats of Malmo, Orebro and Xamax :laugh::laugh: How was Blackburn and Bristol City Roy?

“The question is quite frankly insulting, I suppose. That question is suggesting something. To suggest that suddenly because you move from one club to another, the methods that have stood you in good stead for 35 years and made you one of the most respected coaches in the Europe suddenly do not work. I find it very, very hard to believe that someone has even asked me that question.”

I thought Roy was a humble guy? Why's he banging on about how sick he is when he's never won anything in England/Italy/Spain.

“At the moment arguably one or two of the players that you are suggesting are very different to the Fulham players maybe are not playing any better than the Fulham players played. Journalists work on names and not on performances. You watch people play and you base your judgement on their name and not necessarily what they have actually done on the day of the game.”

Great man management of the squad by sending for Gerrard and Torres after slewing all the 2nd team mid week.

“I would accuse you of being unrealistic if you are suggesting we should doing what Arsenal, who have had the same team for the last six years, and Chelsea, who have just won the league, are doing. We finished seventh last season. I don’t understand why you are suggesting we should be comparing ourselves every day with Chelsea or Manchester United at this early stage of the season.”

Seen.

I hate to be labelled the Benitez comparer but neutral hats on lads........

Had Benitez said "I don't care whether we are 16 or 18th" he would have been slaughtered. Benitez publicly promised 4th and that was his downfall, he never left a relegation team though. I thought this guy was supposed to be the media darling, and play his cards right. I hate his attitude, his lack of respect for us as a club and how he plays down our chances before every single game.

Worst start in 46 fucking years and fucking Everton are up next

To be honest now, he can do one the shithouse.

It is a ridiculous decline.it really is, but since then its down to some of the players that they have bought that just aren't either cutting it or are simply not good enough for that club.

the players need to wake up to get themselves out of this if not for the manager, then for the team and the pride of the club, if not then certain players will have to be shipped out.

That's the problem with the whole debt business of these big clubs, when it hits back, it won't stop. That's why I feel the Gunners are in such a good position, althoguh we don't win the trophy's and all that, we're still competing strongly for them, earning profits, brining through youth's effectively etc.

Most guys support their football club just purely because of the results/players/trophy's etc.

But I see Arsenal as a club which majority of other clubs should look up to, operating fairly and still bringing the results expected of the club.

I appreciate that Arsenal are doing well but you can't compare how Arsenal is run to how the Glazers and Hicks/Gillette run their respective clubs. I don't understand what you mean by "when the debt hits back". Alex Ferguson and Rafa Benitez didn't' choose for that debt to be created nor was it a strategy put in place by anyone at the club who cares about the future b of each of those football clubs. Both unscrupulous owners and families using our famous football clubs as tools in which to garner money from.

I'm glad Arsenal are doing ok but I feel you are almost gloating at the position Arsenal are in, as if people like me and I Like Fat Girls decided ourselves the routes our clubs ended up going down and why they are so worse off now.

I think I am jealous that you can talk about Arsenal and say "we" as perhaps that holy trinity between owners, players and manager still exists. But me and I Like Fat Girls couldn't possibly use the term "we" as we disassociate heavily with one part of that trinity- the people who run the football club and not for the good of the future of the team any longer.

I don't know really what I'm trying to say, just Liverpool fans as a whole didn't really want to go down this road. Yes we wanted investment and yes we gave our trust to these two people very early on, but it wasn't a strategy that we hoped would reap rewards, its just been painful ever since they have come in. Arsenal are in a strong position, but Tottenham and Manchester City are on the up anyway which may negate that.

I also think you'll find Wenger is a one off.

Well no it's inevitable that both Liverpool and Man Utd were going into debt and stuff. But the manager's imo didn't exactly help out with all the debt either. If you look at the facts & figures of transfers, it's clear that Arsenal spend the least each season (averagely). I'm not trying to say we're the superior club to either of these clubs, but as a BUSINESS we look as if we're in a stronger position.

You're right though that both clubs need to be sold to more stable shareholders, but then it's like you can do that with a click of a button nowadays. It's a give and take situation, what you take you must give back. Eventually we'll hopefully see Liverpool back to the title contending team that they once were. It seems like the whole team just doesn't feel the need to play football anymore either. There's a select few players who have put their commitment into the club but those half decent players that were bought in, aren't arsed about the club in any way (imo).

I agree with Man City and Tottenham on the way up to the top level of football. But even so, with Manchester City, money doesn't always buy you the quality needed. I may end being wrong on this but I don't see them ever winning a MAJOR trophy (EPL or CL) with the squad they have.

I'm sure you'll see Liverpool do well in the Europa League though, it'll boost all the stakeholders in Liverpool if you win that trophy, which I think you will.

I rate Nick as a squad player, got a lot of unfair criticism when he was our only real striker available last season and he tried/gave his best. Really good finish today, glad to see him score.

Had a good feeling about Chamakh when he signed and he's had a great start, what with the amount of assists and penalties he's won along with goals. He's a superior version of Bendtner tbh, none of the inconsistencies or poor shooting and we look stronger up-front already this season.

Big win today, very happy.

Sam is a top player.

Really pleased for Fabianski as well, never inspired confidence before this mini-run but it's clear how confidence can affect a player's performance.

Some top reaction saves today only when we were a goal up.

If he keeps this up can't see how Almunia can get back in the side

YEEEEEESSS!! Get in! Very satisfying beating them lot. Very good win. Fully deserved the win. The way i was relieved A. Johnson didn't play lol. Don't see why he's not a regular for City. Fabianksi had to stand up n be counted, and he was. Been like that since he come in the team. Needs to stay in the team when Almunia is fully fit providing he keeps his form up. LOL at Song taking Adebayor's hat off before the 2nd half. Deserves a GIF tbh.

so what? did we ask the cunt to foul fabregas like that? man city fucked themselves and we capitalised. football.
