My previous girlfriend wasn't a fan but found some of it listenable....

It's minor. Plenty on my iTunes for her or any other woman to search through, before or after sex.

My girl's into grime, though, to answer the question. Likes bassline more these days, mind. I don't think girls are as
inclined to be obsessed w/ music as lads tho.

lmfao thats such a generalisation!! What a stupid thing to say. Maybe for some girls, maybe for some guys, not for everyone!

I wouldnt be sexing to grime or nuttin, but Ive chilled in the park or at the yard wit man before, and thats what we listen to, and its all good :D

If you both into the same type of music, why not.

Doesnt mean the girl cant be a bit girly too.

Otherwise this means your saying only guys are allowed to like grime properly, realy like be into it.And thats plain silly. :D

I dont think it matters if you like the same stuff, or nah.
Obviously if you both involved in a scene, you can help eachother out, and go with eachother to events and stuff.
But dont think its a big issue really.

Hmm dont generalise girls though...."they cna only listen to rnb"
We are different people....with different tastes....

reggae? that's okay.
but when i first saw this thread i was like another anti-girl thread but when i think about from a different perspective it would worry me a bit if my boyfriend banged out chris brown and omarion.
So i could see why a man would get worried if his girl's favourite choon was battle riddim.

To be honest I think if your favourite tune is Battle Riddim...why not should your man care. If he likes you, and thats what your into, why would it be a big deal?!

Ive linked guys whos knows how into grime and dubstep I am, and its over kool cos they into it too. So its something we have in common.

If I linked a guy who liked rnb....I guess that be alright....except I never really have to be honest, so I dunno.

i can see why a guy could be uncomfortable with it.
They might think it's "masculine" music, some people are insecure or protective in that way, it's just how certain mans are not everyone likes to be the same as their girl.
People appreciate those differences.
I guess how someone one might find it overly mannish for his girl to like grime, i have to admit and i'm not gonna be a hypocrite and say if someone liked really shitty rnb e.g omarion and bow wow, I would be slighty uncomfortable with it.

i love that song, i love vortex's bars "you get air... like my phone on the train" and Wizzy B's bars the most, i wonder what happened to most them man like Krucial, Royal and Becks they were roadman still.
But some of my favourite grime songs:
Saw It Coming, Together (ruff sqwuad ft wiley), Happy Dayz - Earz, anna down, mayhem freestyle (but just griminals bit) and griminal phone call there are more choons that i love off but can't remember.
and about dubstep, i like it but i dont love it yet, when i get older i will probably be able to appreciate the beats.

Most girls that I know are pretty much like that, in the sense that they like grime now because they fancy JME or because they like WMR (which you can understand is not even grime) or just following a huge hype. However in my little journey I have met several girls that you can just tell love it. It's mainly a male dominated scene, fanbase and performer wise, so it's no surprise a lot of girls don't really like it. Although that doesn't mean when there are a couple of girls that do like it that they are like the rest or 'begging' it. Because like I said in my experience it's mostly men getting excited over skepta brushing past them.

I'll pm you my msn. The only qualm I have with dubstep(and bassline) is the tendency that you have an abundance of average songs, and a few standout ones. All the average songs sound similar and the same because of the lack of lyrics etc. But I'm prepared to be proved wrong lol.

its mad how you're views on dubstep are basically my views on grime bar the lyrics part.

i personally hear very little dubstep i don't like. but i'm very particular about what sets i listen to or whos vinyls i buy. at a rave though its all vibes so any tune is a banger.

did i offend u babes?

It's nothing to do with being offended and that wasn't even directed at you it was more just a mix of being bored and anoyed at the constant confusion of insulting girls that do listen to it but then in the same breath saying not enough girls are into it. Things are discussed especially on here so far and much to the point where people don't even know what they think anymore. How can a girl be interested in grime but BEG it but her brother can do his thing without people batting an eyelid what exactly is all that about? People were more bothered about impressing the other guys on here with trying to move to the other girls on this forum than actually DISCUSSing grime. Am I confused or is that not what we're here for?

no because grime is such a manly genre that when a girl shows more interest than myself it wud probably put me off. if she cud listen to it but didnt bump it as often as i did, that wud be cool but having the same tastes in music between partners aint always cool, u need to differ, and music is one of the main aspects of my life hence the strong veiws i portray in this thread and y i'd prefer to differ in this case.

Anyone who likes them kinda bars is very very weird, if you like it then you're saying brap to your mum getting raped. That's not any funny shit right there. Masculinity and femininity are complete illusions set up so people stick to their little circles, and girls spend their lifes washing up dishes and putting out washing on the line. That's all bullshit in my eyes and if I choice to listen to music, that happens to be on the violent side then I will. Even if it makes me look like a tomboy type or whatever people are calling it these days...
I really don't care if you prefer to have your partner to listen to something else because I would pretty much agree I prefer to have my own interests.

Fuck linkages... I'm glad I have never ever been refered or refer to people in that manor of which I 'date'.

also... If anyone called me 'babes' in real life I would actually walk off. I have an OCD about that word and should only be used by ignorant men who spend their life beating up their wife and then getting a pint down the local to celebrate.

dah more girls in the scene is a good thing like mixed sex skewl. man less likely to spit rape bars if he knows he'll be wanking till he gets expelled cause the girls all think hes a psycho. Nuff people go out looking to link and if they dont they look for fights. fuck going to the shoobz if its all sweaty testosterone. some biatch that mouths along to rnb is all good if you want to fuck her in the toilets but if its long term shes going to need good taste in music or else what the fuck are you going to talk about.

you can tell how vibrant a scene is by the how high grade the gash is. swear i walk past rock clubs and think about shrinking my jeans and buying one of them pete doherty hats

Back then everything was oh so gravy/ I used to like garage cause it carried the ladies / big bass lines and a load of energy / and i loved the beats cause it came with melodies / I could go raving and sip on a Hennessy / wouldnt even think about looking for enemies / then shit changed everyone just bugged out / So Solid came and it all got thugged out / there was a decrease in women

Back then everything was oh so gravy/ I used to like garage cause it carried the ladies / big bass lines and a load of energy / and i loved the beats cause it came with melodies / I could go raving and sip on a Hennessy / wouldnt even think about looking for enemies / then shit changed everyone just bugged out / So Solid came and it all got thugged out / there was a decrease in women

well this is the first post I've ever bothered to do on here but I have to say my boyfriend HATES the fact I like grime.
He wont admit it and I can't quite put my finger on it, but I think it's because he thinks I'm only on it because I'm secretly trying to link each and every mc and not because I like thier music.
Probably a typical reaction from a boy anyway???
This is big reason why I don't invite him to grime raves with me, he gets drunk and gets anoyed that I want to stand at the front and know their bars, we end up argueing = not a fun time. lol the last fwd we went to I ended up missing the whole of Skepta and Wiley's set coz of this.

Yeh of course, I got a couple mates who are on it or used to be. One lives in Bristol actually.
Salute to Bristol by the way. I wanted to move thier but I can't seem to find any teaching jobs there. I got loads of friends who live thier though.
Went to the black swan once with new white crepes - bad move.
