Could this be a hint towards the downloadable content?
Maybe a hint to the sequal?
Or maybe just innocent homage to previous titles?

Obviously to recreate the whole of san andreas for downloadable content would be silly so maybe just a small portion? like a hood or something?

there could be a section of the city. bare in mind that this downloadable content will have been mostly completed with the original game. All it takes is varying pedestrians and building a map. the engine is already there.

I think it's just an easter egg like the Vice City one in the trailer (something about getting a train to Vice City).

But, this is my theory:

GTA I was set in 3 different locations.

Level 1 was Liberty City, Level 2 was Vice City and Level 3 was San Andreas.

GTA III was then Liberty City, Vice City and San Andreas but released seperately (although they were all GTA III).

So GTA IV might be the same, the next one might be Vice City and the next San Andreas.

But I think it would get boring as it's the same thing over and over again.

Tommy Vercetti was a badman gangster. Ran things like Ninjaman and Cartel in Jamaica.

I don't know what they will do with GTA5.

But to the people who have been saying stuff like Carcer City etc, that's been said every game since GTA3 was about and it was mentioned on the radio. But Carcer City was the city used in Manhunt.

Channel, you can't say that GTAIII was all 3 games, because there was effectively 5 games in that series, all set in different times. 1984, 1986, 1992, 1998 (IIRC), and ~2001. They were all just based upon the GTAIII engine (albeit an improved one).

By the time Vice City came out I knew that Rockstar would do San Andreas, it was bait (although you still had the thousands of morons saying this and that, usually kids). But this time, who knows. But one thing's for sure, they won't use Niko again.

Back to the topic at hand, it's just something to get people talking. It's what Rockstar do best, they make a huge game but add lots of little things to get rumour mills going.

Yeah I was a big fan of the whole west coast setting for san andreas, they captured it perfectly! CJ had more character than any of the other main characters in my opinion.

The downloadable content will cost money and was worth $1m per download to Microsoft ... so yeah, I reckon San Andreas would be do-able for that figure plus sales.

Although I think far more likely is the ability to play as another character, maybe Jacob and do a whole new story in the same city with new missions etc.

wud that really be far more likely? i mean people wud get bored of re-doing the same city in a diff character. Rockstar must be aware of that.
i think theyre more likely to do the whole build a map of all GTA city's on multiplayer. if done correctly they could make so much.
