that's like comparing a nursery rhyme to the works of Shakespeare

Canibus is overrated though, man's all technique and no substance or musicality

Nah I'm not even a huge Canibus fan but how Alex ... HOW?

My style of rhyming is ancient like Aztecs and Mayans
Because I recognize its all about timing
Me and my freestyle alliance practicing African voodoo science
In front of 20 ft. bonfires looking skyward
Calculating May 5, 2000 the nine planets will be in alignment
The arrival of the prophet in the cockpit
Of a starship the size of the Hale-Bopp comet
With mercury ion rockets
And a big ass "Canibus coming soon" poster on the side of it
I'm known geographically and intergalactically
That's why I got extraterrestrials that wanna battle me
They even tried kidnappin me
And they would've snatched me
If their craft didn't get trapped in the Earth's gravity
Engines stalled and failed. Crashed into a farmer's field
And that's really what caused Roswell
Undercover operatives working for COM 12
Disguised as a n****r signed with a record deal...

Chino XL's song Wordsmith >>> 100 Bars as a kind of "lyrical exercise" track

Lady In Red
7th May '08, 11:35 PM
Canibus is just to raw, thats why he'll never get respect he deserves. I think its a case of him being overly lyrical which means he is unable to appropriately and consistently channel all that lyricism into classic songs(if that makes sense). Just sounds like there's something very important missing from his songs.

he lacks everything except writing ability, he has the multi's, the wordplay, the alliteration, but like i said before, he has no musicality or substance

What happened to Papoose?

Alphabet slaughter & Law Library >>>>>>>>>>>

he got dropped and his album is probably gonna be released in 5 years time on Koch, been keeping busy with beefs against Fat Joe and Uncle Murda though

Alphabet Slaughter is a rip-off of a better Blackalicious track called Alphabet Aerobics

Papoose was better than 90% of rappers out there. I was hoping if he made it big, all them Southern Fried rappers might get lost. Him and Saigon could change the scene.

Mister Lacey

Exactement, Wiley is a protypical (is that a word) Grime artist for me. All about having very good production and good lyrics, nothing amazing where u have to go look up some words in dictionary.

Canibus got him on 2nd round KO imo.

LL got too angry and lost, but he ended Canibus's career in the long run lol.

I preferred LL when he parred ICE-T, Hammer and Kool Moe Dee.
