As the title says.

I think the whole scene can learn from the success from this song, and i dont mean by simply copying the idea (!)

So what ive seen is, people can make music out of the normal sound of grime, and it can be successful.

This has been tried before, people thinking they should make hiphop, which generally hasnt been very successful (bar bix up look sharp).

So...whats different with this track?

Even tho the lyrics are simple, the concept isnt very relateable, and wiley isnt attacking the track, I think it still has .... energy.

Fix up look sharp did well coz it was a pretty raw track. Hard bangin beat, even tho it wasnt at 140 bpm

Like logan has said, this tune is danceable.

chicks can dance to it, but at the same time...it has a strong driving rhythm, and a good bassline so darker heads can stil vibe with.

So

A tune that people can dance to .... is more accessible.

The end.

Learnt that the only way to break in to the mainstream being a grime artist is by not doing grime.

IF THE DJS IN THE CLUBs ARE PLAYING YOUR TUNE, U WILL ALWAYS WIN.

Good club tunes > Agressive mixtape quality freestyles with mediocre beats

good club tune = more people buying your mixtape/album which will contain mixed tracks.

Shame you have to do a different genre to get played in clubs. Its not a good representation really. Aswell as being a rip off of another tune.

but maybe you dont?

grime has:

4x4 style beats
garage style beats
crunk style beats
dubstep style beats
dnb style beats

all of which get played in clubs

and by style i mean drum pattern

i think its the concepts that arent mainstream friendly enough

my girlfriend wouldnt like wearing my rolex if it said "suck your mum" or was talking about violence.

look at hiphop, they make club music about clubbing

not that every grime track that could do well has to be like that, but .... well i dunno.

Are grime artists allowed to do both though?

For every Rolex tune there is a 'Cricket Bat' & 'What When' as well.

Also at least there not making Hip Hop to break mainstream, which would be 10x worse imo.

As an non grime view, i like most these Rolex tunes/electro tunes.
